Model printer 10% bigger than design (SOLVED)

Hi all

I have a model which has an approx 30mm cylindrical hole, but when it prints the 30mm hole is actually about 33.6mm in size, so it seems to be printing about 10% bigger than it should. I checked the dimensions in TinkerCad and also on the build plate in the design section of Bambu Studio and it looks about 30mm… so I am at a loss why it is printing bigger than the design.

Can anyone offer any advice as this is driving me crazy?

Thanks

Do you have “X-Y Hole Compensation” enabled?

I’ve never heard of that - where can I check?

Never seen that before, but doesnt look like its on;

Previously models always print the perfect size, so I am not sure what has changed… I may open a previous model and re-slice it then print it to check if its changed size from when printed previously!

Created a 15cm disc in TinkerCad, exported as an STL and then sliced using Bambu Studio - printed using same filament and settings on X1C and its exactly 15cm… so no idea why my other print wont work… am going to redesign in TinkerCad and print again to see what happens!!!

OK, I found the problem and rather than just deleting this cry for help and disappearing back into the woodwork, I am going to just own my mistake :wink:

It turns out that my digital calipers have a problem - you set to zero and then when you open them up they add a few mm to the result… so, when you close them up again it reads 3-5mm instead of zero :frowning :frowning:

So it turns out its a schoolboy error being unable to measure accurately :rofl:

Thanks for the reads & comment :slight_smile:
