More options for error solutions

I want more options for the different errors the printer can have. If nozzle is clogged I should have the ability to press a button to heat up the nozzle to see if it would melt/dislodge the clog. Oh no filiment ran out. Even though it’s not same color I should be able to click another option in my ams to use in the same error window.

Or my favorite sometimes filiment breaks in the ams tubes (p1s ams) so rn the only solution it allows is to take apart the ams to remove this small broken piece. I should be able to click a button to “force load” that filiment. Ie I could remove the tube on the end going into printer. Press force load. And it will try to force the filiment through instead of trying to unwind it. Rn the only solution it tries is to remove stuck filiment by “unwinding” the spool back out. Which is what makes the problem worse. If it can instead force load the filiment, the rollers could push it out. Or another idea is to “unlock filiment rollers” so filiment can be pushed through them easily without resistance. Allowing you to push filiment through one of be to get the other one out.

What stops you from manually heating up the nozzle?

Does anything stop you from clearing the error and manually pressing “load filament”?

I’m mid print during these errors be it a multi color print or print by object. To preform these steps I would need to stop my print. Waisting the filament used already in the printing. If I can have the ability to try and recover without having to jump through loops, it would be nice.

A lot of the issues I see on here is the limited functionality you get when the print is paused. This limit also falls under the issues I have. As of rn I either have to stop my print to fix the issue the way you suggest. Or I have to jump through hoops. I travel for work. I like to print while away and have fiancée remove it when she gets home in the evening. It would be nice to click on “use this color instead” when a color runs out while no one is home. Or press a “push filiment forward” button after I have fiancée do easy task of unhooking one of the external tubes. Rn this isn’t possible and I would have to wait till I come home Friday to fix any issues if I want to save/continue my print.

You can heat up the nozzle and extrude while a print is paused. If you are worried about filament running out while away then set up auto refill.

This is the solution alot of people say. To me it’s like saying “oh your tire broke, just buy a new car”. I have my colors set up so I can also see the visualization of what the print will look like. If I have to manipulate all the colors every time I print just so it will “auto refill” then it defeats the purpose.

My thing also ties into if there is a stuck filiment being able to switch to a different one. We should be able to have more freedom in how we resolve the issues presented to us. And the solutions we have now seem very limited or are “cheating” the system as I’ve seen some people put it. I shouldn’t need to preemptively assume issues will arise when I print.
