Got my P2S for almost 6 months….so far it has been awesome! Haven’t failed on me. But noticed recently someone has been using my printer without my permission while I am away (I am attending school)! He printed via the USB port which my Bambu app did not notify me when a print job was started… nor I got any notification when print job finished (since it was printed via USB?) It would be great whenever someone started a print job, an alert would pop up in my phone… or better yet a password is required when print job is done via USB (or a pop up notification in the phone asking for permission). Shouldn’t be difficult to implement IMO… Bambu, can u folks do something quick and add to the next update?

Or take the Toolhead front cover with you. I’m pretty sure the printer will error out and won’t print.

…or if it’s just about the USB port, then just get a USB lock for a few dollars. That said, I think MZip’s suggestion is better. I just wanted to throw that idea in.

This one can easily be removed with a pointy object like the tip of a pen.

Surely you know who might have access to it. But just like fridge pirates in an office environment, there are always those that try to take advantage of others’ belief in honesty. The power lock-out is truly your best option, as the power cable itself isn’t proprietary.
Get a web cam (like a Eufy), hide it in the room. Then set it up to notify you on the web when someone is in front of the printer. Once you identify him, print a shipping box to put into and send him as freight on Besos’s next Blue Origin launch.

Some of u recommended the Power Lock …. sounds good, but I am afraid someone will YANK it out just to plug in the power…. then it may damage my printer….That gadget is still a ‘foreign’ object that is somehow ‘pressured’ into the outlet
Maybe turn the breaker off to that circuit. Should be fine if nothing else is needed on that line. Won’t work if the stealer knowes about the circuit breaker.
It is hard to know from just looking at the picture but what physically/mechanically prevents the Lock-Out device from being removed with the lock in place.
I spent 30 years in an industrial facility and we went from no Lock-Out/Tag-Out system to a pretty comprehensive system that had lots of procedure and what type of locking devices to use.
Here is the thing about most systems like that. There is a high level of sort of what I would call the “Honor System” associated with all of those “Lock, Tag, Try” systems. The worker sees the device in place, mentally goes “Oh, that is locked out” and they move on. That said, someone who is determined to defeat the Lock Tag Try system can generally defeat it if that is their goal. From the picture, that device looks like you can just perform the same “unplugging” act and the device is coming off. Lock and all. Mechanically you need a pin that goes through both the male and female electrical contacts to fix it in place. It looks like it has a small magnet on the one face but I can’t really determine what it is for. Not saying it won’t do, just that I don’t understand how it prevents removal.
There is a huge industry dedicated to lock tag and try and I sometimes think we have tried everything at least once.
We’ve used devices similar to these but YMMV.
Something like what you have described I can tell you unequivocally what I would do. IF I had a pretty good idea who was using your machine, without your explicit permission, I would tell that individual that what they were doing was tantamount to stealing and it best stop IMMEDIATELY.
Why should you have to protect your property from theft? That printer is YOUR property if you bought it. What else is being taken without your permission? Even If you are in some sort of communal situation like college "roomies where you have roommates or the like. That does not matter. It is still theft. An argument about “Well it is sitting in a common area” would not fly but that is just me.
Also, regardless as to whether it was some trifling trinket or not, in that same conversation I would tell the individual “Oh, BTW, you owe me a spool of filament too”
It blows my mind the utter lack of regard for other people’s property that is prevalent today.

Put up a sign that says “Someone broke the printer when I was away. Waiting for repair parts. Do not use”
