Hello everyone!
I recently got myself a Bambulab P1S instead of going crazy and throwing my Sovol SV06 Plus out the window.
I’m going to use my P1S to print a sculpture I designed in Blender, but I would like to get your takes on which filament would be best for my purpose.
I’ve only ever worked with PLA and PETG so far. PLA is easier to print and seems to have better details than PETG, but PLA is very hard to sand, vs. PETG who’s just a breeze in that regard.
What I want is the highest possible resolution (I’m using a 0.2 Bambulab nozzle), and the most stability. I need the sculpture to last forever.
-
It will never be under any kind of stress.
-
There will be no exposed plastic parts. Every inch of the prints will end up being primed, painted, and in some places varnished.
-
The bottom of the print will be glued to a wooden base.
-
It will never be in direct sunlight.
-
When not on display, it will be sealed in its dedicated crate with foam padding.
I could also go for ASA but I don’t want to have to deal with fumes and possible print failures if I don’t really need it.
My main concern is that, say, 10 years down the road, the print starts warping and ends up cracking the paint and break off in general.
