Motor Noise Cancelling Calibration Issue

I updated my P1S to the latest 01.05.00.00 firmware when it launched this week, reran the calibration process, but was surprised to find that there wasn’t a noticeable reduction in noise.

Is the new Motor Noise Cancelling feature part of the calibration process on the P1S, or something that needs to be run separately, as on the X1C? Under “Calibration” on the printer screen, I only have the option to run the standard calibration.

I’ve tried power cycling the printer and rerunning the calibration process multiple times.

Thanks in advance for your help!

On the X1 it’s part of the full calibration and also listed under it so you know. Not sure how much is shown on a P1 screen.

You’ll notice when it calibrates though: It makes repititive moves that start out loud and end up much more quiet.

Ah, gotcha! So it’s likely already in place.

Appreciate the response, thank you!

If you run Calibration under the Device Menu in Bambu Studio, you will see the option to calibrate for noise cancellation. Cheers!

You willl know when it is performing the noise cancellation calibration as it does multiple diagonal passes on both rear corners of the plate, with each pass getting quieter. The total time for the calibration has also increased to 26mins as opposed to the 10mins or thereabouts it took before the update. You could just run the full calibration again just to make sure . :+1:

Hey ssimak, I can’t seem to find anything under the Calibration menu apart from Flow Dynamics and Flow Rate. Any ideas on why this is and how I can find the Motor noise cancellation feature?

Btw the printer is fully up to date with firmware and I haven’t had any issues so far.

Thanks!

It’s done automatically. There’s no option for it.

Does the P1 have any options in Studio similar to the X1C?

If not, you should still be able to run a printer calibration from the printer screen.

On the X1, you can access the different machine calibration tools (including motor noise) through the Settings → Tools. Where you have the Self-test, Calibration and Filament drying. It is not stand alone but part of the Calibration routine.

I do not know about the P1 though unfortunately.

EDIT: Thanks @lkraus , I had overlooked that Studio option.

Thought what I said was clear. Sorry.

It happens DURING CALIBRATION automatically. Whenever you calibrate your printer noise cancellation is automatic and not something you can run independent of any other calibrations.
