I’ve had my P1S for about six weeks now and have been using Bambu Studio for the same length of time. I came from an Ender-3 and PrusaSlicer (3 years) so I’m not completely green when it comes to 3D printing. I received the wind-up outboard motor as my gift when I bought my P1S, so my grandson wanted me to print him the Motorboat Benchy. I downloaded @Blackgem’s multi & mono color profile ( Boat Model 010 - The windup-motor boat by vandragon_de - MakerWorld and on the mono color plate I selected red and blue for the hull and white for the wheelhouse and left supports as default. The weird thing is, it continued to use a combination of white and blue for support long after it got up past the top of the gunnels. There is also about 2mm worth of red in the roof that I couldn’t figure out how to get rid of. I used Blackgem’s “this is not a benchy” profile and just changed the colors. It printed ok, it just did some things I didn’t expect. I wish I could post the profile I modified and have you folks pick it apart and clue me in on what’s going on. Anyway, the paint scheme is supposed to match a rocking boat I made for his first birthday.
And to top it all off, I printed the wrong one (live & learn) but I’m reprinting the correct one as we speak.
As you can see in the next picture, using the profile from Blackgem it continued to use blue and white filament for supports well above the top of the gunnels. And then it just stopped using blue. Then it used red for support on the roof overhang, even though I had selected white for the entire wheelhouse. I don’t mind the red, it’s just that half of the four-hour print was devoted to building the purge tower. No matter what I tried, I could not change it to white. I’m still very green when it comes to Bambu Labs slicer. If someone could point me in the direction of a tutorial or online guide on how to use the various features, I’d appreciate it. I’ve figured out a little bit by just poking at things, but that only gets you so far.
My grandson said he wanted three boats; poppa bear, momma bear and baby bear sized. He’s got the last one, I’m working on the first.
