Multi-material "smudge" issue (P1S + AMS)

My question is how do I fix the weird smudging issue? Is it a stringing issue? Or something else specifically related to multi-material/ams settings?

It’s unclear from your print regarding “smudging issues” Are you referring to these spots?

That looks like filament contamination as if your nozzle isn’t quite purging the last filament before switching.

As @Olias mentioned, it’s probably contaminated. Could be by the nozzle not wiping off cleanly during the filament switch over, or the flush/purge is not clean enough.

One thing that you could try is to tweak the Flushing Volumes when it’s switching between the white & black colors:

You can increase the amount of flushing volume to flush out the previous colors (but also introduces more waste)

Found this little video (not the best but seems to cover the basics) that may help clarify:

Hope that helps.

Yes, those are the spots I am referring to as smudges.
