You can’t update because the printer is busy, as it says in the image you posted. Make sure it is connected to the internet because that is a pretty old version.
I updated yesterday, then it told me I had the latest version. I guess I should have checked version numbers for the latest
After this print I will try again.
I agree with @Square3D .
My X1C is on Version 01.08.02.00.
I think the 01.04. was that motor noise cancellation update at the end of 2023 which was blocked from rolling back due to the X1+ firmware.
That’s the first thing I will do tomorrow then is update again. Curious that is what it updated to yesterday.
Every version and what’s added and fixed. Then you’ll know you are up to date
All this work and testing and bothering the forum because it didn’t update to the current version.
Sorry gentleman.
No need to be sorry. We’ve all got tales like this to tell. And we come back for more
Let us know how it goes after the update.
Many of us have been sure to have resolved a problem only for it to be persistent despite the cleverest fix.
I’m curious why it would tell them it’s up to date after updating to an old version?
Don’t forget to power cycle after a firmware update and run calibration again before getting going.
@CRracer712 @EnoTheThracian The sage continues. I tried to update the firmware both through the app and the the printer. I will not allow me because I am running the most current version.
I checked and am having no network issues.
I guess a factory reset is next.
“Restore to factory settings” is actually safe to do and can correct many strange behaviors. It has corrected problems so often after a firmware update that I always perform a restoral just as a preventative measure.
The only downsides are the time to do the input shaping calibration and the loss of filament calibrations stored on the printer. I use OrcaSlicer with the calibration results stored in the filament presets, which are not affected by the restoral.
So I am making progress after a factory reset, I have been able to update the firmware. However, because it was so out of date I’ve had to update multiple times and I am still not up to the current version.
You have to keep updating it until you hit the last one as per the wiki i posted. better be safe than sorry.
But since this topic is marked as solved, guess that’s it.
Good luck
It was just the firmware not updating. I factory reset and then updated. 3 test prints all successful.
Thanks gentlemen.
Glad you sorted it out. And remember, stay up to date. Sometimes new firmware versions bring new problems but most of the time they are there also to fix previous problems.
Have a blast and enjoy your “new” printer

[/quote] Hey! I had the exact same issue with my Carbon and AMS — super frustrating. In the end, what fixed everything for me was updating **all the firmware and the Bambu Studio software to the latest version. Once everything was fully up to date, the color switching and AMS integration worked perfectly in the slicer.
Hope this helps — hang in there, I know it can be a pain to troubleshoot!
