Multicolour not printing

I have been trying to print the imperial box and the text I want to print doesn’t slice what ever I seem to do. I have had issues previously (the blue part) with text trying to be printed into void because the white part was as thick as the top shell layers.

I changed the design this time the text doesn’t seem to slice.

The uploaded file link does not work.

Try a service like WeTransfer.com and create a link (not email). You do not need to sign up for anything.

In most cases of the problem you describe, it is usually the order.

Assuming you have multiple objects merged.

Make the text the lowest entry in the list by dragging it down or others up.

The topmost object is calculated first, and the next one down overwrites any areas of overlap, and so on until the last one, which overrides all.

The Imperial model, the red one, has thinner/smaller text than the blue one.

Due to this, there isn’t enough geometry to create even a single line of filament.

Recommendations:

  • If you designed this, use a larger point size and ideally make the text bold.
  • Choose a thicker font to start with. The Exo 2 family has lots of weights to play with.

Tip:

  • Change the wall generator style

In the Quality tab, change the value of Wall generator to Arachne.

You can do this right now, making your existing model work. The numbers will only be one line thick, though.

Setting this value for all your models may be very helpful. However, be cautious, as it may have unexpected consequences with detailed models.

Arachne forces the construction of smaller details, making those parts bigger than originally designed.

I was trying a new font with straight, simple rounded lines for numbers instead of my usual. (Varela Round)

And indeed the Arachne worked well thank you
