Multiple errors on brand new H2D

I’ve been working with support and not getting very far. My brand new H2D would not print out of the box. It wouldn’t even attempt to pull filament if I tried to print with it. I could manually load and unload filament, and push it through the extruder and nozzle, but printing would immediately fail with “The extrusion motor is overloaded”. I replaced the idlers and filament sensors, but no change. Finallly, Bambu sent me a whole new extruder unit, which I installed, only to get more errors. I’m trying to sort through them.

I’m getting 3 errors and a warning to do maintenance (on a printer that’s never been used?). Anyways, the errors are “The left filament cutter sensor is malfunctioning…”. I also get the same one for the right filament cutter. Then I get “The position hall sensor of the Extruder Switching Motor has an open circuit”.

I assumed there was a problem with one or both of the ribbon cables that attach to the unit, but I have disconnected and re-seated those several times. They’re in straight and look fine. Is there something else I should be checking? Could it be the cables that are the actual problem? Any insight or suggestions appreciated.

“The extrusion motor is overloaded” usually indicates either an obstruction in the PTFE paths or that the tubes have not been fully inserted into the buffer. Compared to the X1 Carbon and similar models, the tubes need to be pushed in considerably further.
