Hi guys - so started to use the AMS more with Bambu branded PLA filament - bambu slicer, default profile settings 200c - and now I am getting these multiple, random “Failed to pull out the filament” messages as I switch between 7 colors - so far I see this happening just on one of my (3) AMS units. Now, all I do is tap retry and it works fine every time. I don’t mess with the AMS unit - I watch the spool rewind and then feed again, I see the nozzle heating up and it then purges the old filament and the new filament starts to flow and then it starts printing again. This happens randomly on any color, so far in this one particular AMS unit I am noticing. I checked the spools and they are not tangled, filament is not broken or stuck in the extruder or tube. Any ideas?
Make sure your spool are running freely. I suspect there may be a sensor for how hard it pulls.
Thanks - yes - I took a look at all the spools and they all seem to be seated correctly. The thing that is odd is that it will fail and I don’t touch anything other than tapping retry and then it works fine. I am not sure exactly how to troubleshoot this - I thin k you are right about the pull sensor - perhaps it is wound too tight - I need to actually hover over and see what happens. I will open a support case as well.
I have a worse situation. I get the errors. I am using Pet G and PLA create a layer for easy removal of the supports. printing a five hour print with many parts on the bed. I could’nt work. All my 4 AMS units with flashing LED`s, checked well the cables as somewhere it was suggested but to no avail.
I had to stop and threw the work away. Next day started everything and it worked without a hitch. loaded and unloaded filaments numerous time.s. Realized that I could resume.
Anyway started same job the day after and got the same exact issue. This time I switched off the printer and restarted. It continued to work without a hitch…
The AMS is a complicated thing but getting stopped half way in a long job and throwing everything away is not an option.
Anybody encountered such a thing?
