I have print that has 3 different items but each need be printed twice.
So on plates i have
Plate one named.
2x item one
Plate two
2x item two + 2x item 3 (they are smaller)
then for each i have added plate for each single item incase they want print single.
1x item one
1x item two
1x item three
Is this correct or is there better way to do it.
According to Print Profile Upload Guidelines Regarding multiple versions it looks like the correct way is to simply have 2 plates: 1st with 2x item one and 2nd plate with 2 pairs of item 2 and 3. Additional plates are suggested if those items were different versions.
(that’s my interpretation, but YMMV)
If i know the model is going to require a number of parts that can be divided up the same, I like to have all the parts on a single plate that can be printed however many times.
In my Modular Hex Display, I know that you need either 6 or 12 of the parts, so i’ve got a single plate with 1 or 2 of each item and you just print that plate 6 times.
For my Sheikah Tower Planter, which has a lot of parts and needs multiples of some plates, I have the plate named “print 2x” etc so that people know to print multiples
So better to let them remove extra on app if they want to print one at time over them selecting.
