My Experience with the H2D

To start I’ve been printing for a year/year and a half. I started with elegoo neptune series and still love them and still own 3. I have 3 p1s, had 2 A1 with ams but sold one might sell the other. A1 Mini and the H2D. I got the H2D the first day I beleive it was announced. Right off the bat the right nozzle did not work, the as it swapped back and forth it would randomly not heat up and fault out. Prints came out awful and I couldn’t use the right side at all. I got 2 ams pro units to use with it and couldn’t even use half of it. After wasting time with support they wanted me to swap the cables and do some really stupid stuff that wasn’t even possible and they finally sent me replacement parts which worked. Print quality have varied drastically. Either really nice prints, or horrible layer shifts and total trash. I sell to multiple shops so I need decent quality, I’m not gonna sell junk. So after this issue was resolved now I am having ams issues, which I found after my right nozzle now works. Which the left ams is also malfunctioning. Gets low on filament and won’t pull it. Right side won’t pull it unless I feed it. Already replaced the ptfe even tho it was fine. No clue what’s going on. Support on average takes 3+ days to reply and after months of issues I am considering sending it back and getting another p1s instead. Bed size is great, 2 nozzles seems like a great idea, but it’s just badly built. Have you guys had luck, is this just me, and have you sent your h2d back?

This feels like the Bambu Lab way of shifting blame—and workload—onto customers. I’ve had multiple cases where, despite providing logs and photos, I was told to “reproduce” the issue and run through unnecessary loops. It comes across as delay rather than diagnosis, as if stretching the timeline might make the problem disappear. For clarity: if I report a fault on day one, a three–four-month delay doesn’t reset the warranty. The case remains a day-one issue until it’s resolved.

For balance, my H2D has been largely solid. A few issues have appeared along the way—some seemingly triggered by reactive firmware tweaks aimed at users who don’t read the manual—but out of the box it’s been fine. I can even print TPU 85A via the AMS HT through the full PTFE path without trouble. Wipe towers look clean, with none of the stringy artifacts others report.

All I’m asking for is straightforward troubleshooting, timely resolutions, and transparency—without pushing avoidable work back onto the customer.

the 30 cents thermistor of the pellet stove last’d 15 years before dying, just for reference.

Ouch! Sorry to read of your H2D problems. I received mine that first week as well with 350hrs so far. But, just last week, I’ve seen a Z-homing error which resolved by reseating the right side nozzle; twice now. There was some discoloration on the nozzle mating surface; maybe give it a polish if it happens again or replace it if need be.

Regarding your PTFE issue, I had to replace all of my add-on AMS PTFE tubing with the best that I could find after I learned the hard way that just any PTFE is not good enough as the cheap stuff induces too much drag. Fingers crossed for you happy printing again.

Update: Turns out the Z-homing error was caused by the eddy sensor. I created a ticket after it happened that 2nd time and tech support sent me a replacement straight away.

The eddy sensor replacement process was a challenge but it all worked when I got it all together.

Watching the repair videos then having the print head all apart and seeing the two pcb’s in the head along with more sensors etc. this printer is a big step up from the X1C and its hard not to be impressed with the engineering involved.

I respect those that find reasons to hold off purchasing one but this H2D was an easy decision for me and one I’m still very happy that I made.

That said, I agree with the advice to start with an A1. Much simpler and easy to use and fix if need be. I love my Mini.

It’s not reasonable to be asked to repeat the same steps for weeks—especially when those steps risk damaging your equipment.

I’m increasingly frustrated with how Bambu Lab support handles cases. In my company, treating a customer that way wouldn’t be acceptable.

What’s most discouraging is the sense that the goal is to wear you down until you quit and fix it yourself. Just yesterday I finally received a reply to a four-month-old ticket. That level of patience should count for something—yet the issue still wasn’t resolved, nor was it escalated to second-line.

If it were me, after retracing the steps to make sure I followed the instructions correctly, I would stop right here and ask for a replacement printer.
