Just waiting on the AMS HT’s to become available.
Looks awesome! What shelves are you using for the AMS, or is it custom made?
Thanks. The slide-outs are available for download here. AMS RACK I had to modify them a little because the AMS 2 has a slightly different footprint size to the original AMS.
They’re a game changer for small workspaces.
Im jealous of how clean you were able to keep everything. Can actually see the floor even.
Looks fantastic!
Haha, my wife would tell you I’m just obsessive, but it helps that I have a separate space for my PC and post-processing work. ![]()
What workbench is that? If you don’t mind sharing.
Superb setup.
I got the bench from Bunnings and the drawers underneath from Vevor, here in Australia.
How did you make the AMS holders with the drawers? Did you made the wood square by yourself for the ams’s?
I am changing my opinion.
This is far too tidy and organised.
This does not related to me looking at my setups and thinking they are untidy and unorganised.
The two thought processes are definitely unrelated.
Do NOT read
Yeah, I am still jealous how nice, tidy and organised it is.
The cabinets are just bedside cabinets with the shelf removed. The rest I downloaded and printed from makerworld. BAMBU LAB AMS RACK DRAWER SYSTEM by Placeholder MakerWorld: Download Free 3D Models. I had to modify them slightly for the AMS 2 Pro as they’re have a slightly different footprint to the original AMS.
Could you please give a link to those cabinets that would be really great since I don’t want to build them myself with plywood or something
Yeah, I tried making cabinets from plywood too only to discover I’m probably the worst cabinet maker on the planet!
I then found those flatpack cabinets at Bunnings here in Australia. I just had a look but they don’t seem to be listed anymore. At the time, I just checked out my local hardware stores until I found a cabinet I could use. As long as the internal width of the cabinet measures at least 403mm (you could go wider and pack it out), and a minimum internal height of 530mm (the extension runners need to be at least 250mm apart to comfortably stack two AMS’s)
Also, the Makerworld spec for the slide-out extension runners say 350mm but I found that didn’t allow the AMS to slide out far enough to allow the lid to open fully, it hit the AMS above it so I had to hold the lid open, which means you don’t have both hands free when swapping spools. Instead, I used 450mm soft-close extension runners which worked perfectly.
A word of caution. Make sure your workbench is stable and be sure to tightly secure the AMS cabinet to your workbench otherwise when you slide out your AMS with 4x full spools of filament, the cabinet may topple forward (ask me how I know this).
Nice setup! Just out of curiosity, what’s the length of your PTFE tubes from the far-left AMS units?
Longest PTFE tube is about 1150mm. It’s just long enough to allow the AMS drawer to fully extend. The tube was originally around 1300mm but I occasionally got some stalled feeds.
Another thing that helped was to un-anchor the PTFE hubs from the cabinet and leave them floating to ensure as gentle a curve as possible. You can see where they used to be screwed to the top of the cabinet. Looks messy from behind but since doing this and shortening the tube to 1150mm, haven’t had a single stall.
This is a nice and neat setup. It looks very user friendly and lots of lighting. ![]()
Looks great. Nice and Tidy.
’m waiting on my desk to be delivered to set up my 13 color H2C.
