Ok, not a huge issue but I couldn’t find a report of this (or maybe I missed it).
Here recently one of my X1’s has been purging rather strangely. Instead of the normally compact waste wads, these are all coming up stringy and they can get caught in the chute. Printer still seems to print just fine though. Any ideas on what might cause this?
Happens with different filament and these filaments poop just fine on my other X1.
Does my printer just need more fiber 
been noticing a difference in my poop too! my p1s has the poop sticking to the edge of the poop shoot now which never happened since i bought the printer? wondering if the changed something in the last update?
I noticed this on my A1 Mini a few months back…it was a partial nozzle clog.
now that you mention it i might have the same problem. happened kinda the same time i printed with some pla cf . maybe a peice is stuck inside?
Interesting. I’ll have to look into that. Still, the prints have been fine as far as I can tell so if the nozzle was partially clogged, wouldn’t I see it in the prints?
was watching the nozzle when it did the purging process. the filament didnt drop straight down it squirted out more towards the bed side. even spilling onto it a bit? when i watch the wiki video , its supposed to purge STRAIGHT down?
gonna remove nozzle tomorrow and check for blockage
I looked into my issue when I swapped the nozzle, I noticed the poop difference.
After the print I put the old nozzle back in & set the hotend to 15* higher then my last print & purged it a few times. Purging cleaned out the nozzle & I haven’t had any problems with it since.
Depends on the print.
I was printing something about 5" tall & noticed ridges that looked like under extrusion. My print was also in white, so it really stood out.
I did a quick check with the nozzle needle thing. I don’t print in abrasive stuff or sparkles. Filament seems to come out of the nozzle straight down.

ya mine is purging more towards the plate side? its funny cuz when i watch it i looks like its forcing to purge then boom its starts coming out fast and furious but not straight down.
I have a feeling that either that cheap wood filament i used or the CF filament blocked the nozzle a tiny bit cuz it still prints great except for the purging?
pretty sure i figured out my pooping problem . Tried to clean nozzle but didnt work. must of been a nasty blockage. replace nozzle with a spare i had (thank god for spare parts) and now i poop STRIGHT DOWN !
P.S i replace the heater and sensor at same time!
The blocked nozzle i had , i took a mini torch and heated it up until all kinds of ■■■■ came out . maybe i can reuse this nozzle one day . its a hardened nozzle too
Bumping this back up as I’m still having this issue. I’ve tried several different things including replacing the entire hotend and this still is happening. I put in a support ticket but we all know how long that might take. Just hoping someone might come across this with some new suggestions on what to check.
happens to me if i use a .2 nozzle so it being a partial clog makes sense.
This is happening with .4 nozzles and a brand new hotend
What I mean is that if the flow is being restricted then the poops would resemble a narrower nozzle.
Well, went through a few troubleshooting steps with Bambu support like swapping nozzles and extruders with my other X1. That didn’t help anything. However, since I had some downtime today, I had time to really watch both machines and the purging cycles.
I realized that the issue was the toolhead in the problem machine wasn’t making good contact with the lever in the purge chute so that lever wasn’t actuating the swinging “trapdoor” that typically catches the purged filament.
Well, after a little more digging, I discovered damage to the housing on the backside of the toolhead which was causing the lack of interaction with the purge lever. There must have been a collision at some point but I don’t recall ever seeing this broken piece so perhaps it went down the chute.
Anyways, just figured I’d share this in case anyone comes across this issue in the future.
So I searched the interwebs for hours looking for a solution to the stringy purge and to my dismay a lot of the comments are, “your printer needs more fiber, change the printers diet, printer needs gluten free filament.” None of them helpful at all. Which doesn’t surprise me. I read your post(which was very helpful) and decided to look at the back of my toolhead and it was fine. Then I looked at the purge chute and I found that the issue is that the purge chute flap holder(swingy thing in the back of the printer) is broken or missing. It is staying open when the toolhead is purging and allowing the filament to string to the bottom of the chute, hence the stringy poops. Either put in a warranty claim or just buy a new p1s/x1c purge chute from Bambu for $14.99 US and a quick 5 min still and your purge is back to normal. I hope Bambu comes up with a better design because the purge flap holder is plastic and with constant use it now seems to be a wearable part. Hope this all helps.
when mine was doing this i found that the back cover of the tool head was broken and that allowed the flap to not close . i at first gued a thin piece of plexi across the broken area that worked great and then i just printed a new cover hope this helps someone took me all day to figure out what it was
I am running into the same issue but mine is also resulting in poor print quality especially on the first layer. I feel like I’ve tried everything.
If you are noticing issues with print quality, I’d first look at the nozzle to see if it might be partially clogged. Post some photos of your purges and the first layer and someone might be able to help as well.
