My top layer is very bad but not all…

My top layer from my Last print is very Bad in the left half. Can anyone say what happend here? I start a new print at the moment. I am very curious about the result. Thanks for the answers.

Too fast on the top layer

Try and reduce the top and bottom speeds for a cleaner more consistent finish

Okay thanks. But i didn‘t understand why the ritght side is good and the left side is not good?

I’m not sure the reasoning behind it but I’ve found that when the nozzle moves in one direction at higher speeds the finish looks great then as it moves along to the other side it turns into a dogs breakfast

But slowing down my top and bottom layers elevates the issue 100%

I think its because as it moves along the filament is sort of pushing to the side its moving and by the time it makes it to the far end the finish is looks terrible but this only happens at higher speeds

I only figured this out because when printing the internal memory spool holders I noticed that the top and bottom layers went down at a slower rate than what the slicer defaults are

I tried it, it worked, sold lol

From which side does the last layers start? From left or from right? It could be that the max flow rate of the filament is showing its beeing pushed on the edge. Lowering speed would have the same effect as reducing max flow rate in the filament setting.

I also forgot to mention that I bump up my printing temps from the default 220 to 227 on average for PLA

It happens with the layers that the printer prints from right to left. This does not happen in the top layer but from the 52nd of 55. what I also find strange is that the printer has printed the 55 layers and then continues to print for over half an hour? I have Limit the Speed from 300 to 100 but it isn‘t better. I wonder me i have 3 good prints with the original 100% PLA settings. The 4. print was the beginning….

Did your print lift from the bed on that side? That would explain what you’re seeing

Is it ironing the top layer?

Even if there was no error message it could be the STL file

You could right click on the part before slicing and click repair file

I suggest this because after the last layer it continues to print for over a 1/2 hour which leads me to think the gcode is glitchy

@roth.ulf did you ever solve this? Having similar issues.

It could be issues with over extrusion when the printer slows down try calibrating your filament it might help
