Nahimic driver

I get this error, how can I stop having crashes because of this driver?

If I disable it, I lose my sound settings.

The answer to this question won’t be found on this forum. Bambu is at least giving you a diagnostic letting you know you’ll have system crashes with this driver injecting functions that are known to cause their libraries problems.

I’m assuming you have an ASUS motherboard or Laptop since you didn’t state it. The only option you have is to uninstall the driver completely and that means going over to the ASUS forum and asking how.

If I were to wager though, you probably have to go into device manager and uninstall it from there and then power cycle the system and hope that the Generic Windows Audio drivers prevail over the Nahimic drivers. Hope being the operative word…

Here’s what you might try, this is a generic method of uninstalling drivers. Sometimes windows will not clean up the drivers and then you’ll have to hunt down the files one by one and uninstall them that way or if you go into programs, you may be lucky there’s an uninstall program in the programs list. I know… it’s a lot of ifs but that’s the way it goes.

RightClick Start menu then device manager

Navigate to your sound card

RightClick and uninstall device and pray that it offers you the option of deleting all drivers from the system. If it doesn’t then just delete the device itself and hope the drivers are removed. As I mentioned above, also look in Programs for the audio driver installation program that ASUS hopefully left behind. That would be a cleaner way to remove all files.

PowerCycle your system and pray that Windows will try to install a generic device driver rather than the ASUS one. After all, that’s why its called “Plug and Pray” right?. :pray:If it doesn’t your system will just reinstall the ASUS drivers again and you’re back square one.

If none of that works, then you will want to ping ASUS for the proper way to install the Windows-only native audio driver or ask them for an alternative driver. Note you will lose that precious high end audio you must have payed dearly for but thems the breaks in the world of Chinese makers who don’t test their sh|t properly.

You could also use Google to get your answers too. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
But seriously, here’s a search string that might help find alternate drivers. You can’t possibly be alone in this situation and from the search hits, it appears you’re not. Nahimic driver alternative - Google Search

Good Luck🍀 and let us know how you make out so that the next person who has this problem can find your solution.
