Over a month ago, I was printing 8 hour prints nonstop on my X1C for over a week. Then, out of nowhere, my X1C starts to fail horribly. I opened a ticket and spent weeks with Bambu Support to troubleshoot the issue. Much of the time was wasted updating each new support member to the latest development because they kept responding to the ticket repeating advice already given, completely ignoring the thread. This alone was infuriating. For example, when they finally came to the conclusion that replacement parts needed to be sent over, I had to repeat the same exact shipping information 4 SEPARATE TIMES (with at least a day between each reply from them asking for my shipping information).
That’s not even the worst part. When I finally did receive my replacement hotend and toolhead (TH) board, the problem was still there after taking apart the entire toolhead to install the new parts!
The first test (picture with green part) was with a test cube file Bambu specifically sent over to assess the problem. In the video (IMG_1960.MOV - Google Drive), notice the intensely loud grinding sound (yes, I’m aware of grinding concerns from many users’ posts about this. This one is different. It’s way louder than anything I’ve ever heard, and the prints come out horribly). Also, the door is open (so no heat creep) and was used with the same exact eSun PLA I’ve printed with absolutely no problem on my recently repaired P1S.
I’ve also performed all maintenance checks according to their maintenance wiki (lubrication and cleaning), and updated all firmware.
Other prints pictured were further attempts (a cold pull and extruder gear disassembly performed between each attempt to check for any issues).
I have also filed another ticket with Bambu, but have no faith in their service. This has been a terrible experience for me. I’ve had the printer for a little over a year, and I’m considering filing a product liability claim if this isn’t resolved by Bambu. Can anyone please help me identify the problem?
