I’m using a Bambu P1S with an AMS. I’ve had this for about 2 years and hundreds of hours of printing time. In the last couple of months, I’ve received Error 0700 8006 anytime I’ve tried to print using my AMS. I have cleared filament blockage before, so I’ve tried that as a solution to no avail. Filament feeds through the PTFE tube without much issue at all, feeds through the buffer, but stops just after the PTFE tube connector every time. Regardless of which AMS slot I use. I am able to print without the AMS, so I know the issue isn’t with the extruder or anything else. This has been so frustrating trying to fix it.
The only thing I’ve noticed that is slightly different is the gear sounds as the AMS is feeding through the PTFE tube, so I’m unsure what else to do to remedy this issue.
Possible causes:
- Filament debris: The filament has become brittle, for example, because it was left in the tube for weeks. This debris causes friction and, in some cases, error messages from the sensors. - Very likely, can be resolved by cleaning.
- The tube itself has become rough from heavy use and causes friction - Possible, the solution would be to replace the tubes.
- The sensor that detects this is defective - Rarely, the solution would be to replace the sensor.
So, when troubleshooting, I would start with the cheapest options. In other words, the first step is a deep clean. This has helped 95% of users so far. The second step is to: Replace the tubes if the first step doesn’t solve the problem - they’re very cheap.
People often think it’s clean, but then a tiny piece of filament or debris has got stuck somewhere out of sight. Debris, in particular, is tricky because, although the filament still passes through, it causes extremely high friction and triggers error messages.
It’s not filament debris. I replaced the PTFE tube from the toolhead to the PTFE connector, but still getting this issue.
I’ve gone through every step of clearing filament debris including cleaning the internal hub. I have changed the PTFE tube connecting the printhead to the PTFE connector. There isn’t any filament debris. I’m still getting this error.
Sorry, I’m completely out of the topic - that was over a month ago.
Sounds like a hardware malfunction. Why don’t you contact Bambu support or open a ticket?
