Hi Everyone!
So I just got my printer (P1S with an AMS) last Friday, and set it up, everything was great. I printed a few things over the weekend (about 8 items, 24 hours of printing maybe), and I’ve been switching colors, everything was fine for the most part (have some tangling, which was the main annoyance).
Anyway, last night I tried printing this Filament Spool Hub Weight and after a few layers it stopped extruding (I thought the system would stop the print and alert me to this) but towards the end I went to check on it and the tool head was waving through the air over a single layer of filament far below it. I was shocked and stopped the print. I tried loading and unloading the filament, but nothing would happen.
I thought maybe it was clogged so I took off the tool headcover and removed the hot end. The machine had cut the filament so there was a piece of filament in there and I took it out. Now I tried to start the machine up again and its still not printing. I believe the error was something due to cutting, so I checked the blade, but it seems plenty sharp. The filament flows from the AMS to the PTFE tubes, so it doesnt seem stuck there, and I tried pulling the PTFE tube out of the tool head by pushing down on the black ring, but the tube will not come out. Is it stuck inside there? What do I do?
Also, I tried to extrude manually using the interface, and nothing happens when I click the down or up arrow?
When trying to unload the filament I get “Failed to cut the filament”, but it doesnt need to be cut, its not in the hot end or the extruder nozzle, I can fit the needle through them just fine.
My idea of what is wrong: (don’t want to influence anyone’s ideas as I do not know much)
After reading stuff, I think my best hypothesis is that the filament absorbed moisture and is too thick and wont go through? How do I remedy this when I cant take it out? I just realized I never took off the plastic for the beads that came inside the AMS (I didnt see anything that told me to do so), and just noticed that the moisture level in Bambu Studio shows a 5 ![]()
Thank you for reading and helping!
