Need help with printing clear PLA on A1

So the print looks like this, with a messy profile and stretching discharges, wonder what is happening, I did with the same materials before and it was clean. for the print that has problems I just used a 0.08 mm profile hoping to get finer layers. I just got the machine last weekend so been using everything out-of-box, 0.4 Stainless steel nozzle, textured build plate etc. A lot of pictures included…

if more information is needed to identify where the issue is let me know! thank you

Welcome to the forum.

Stringin and clumping like this is often a result of either to high of nozzle temperature for the filament or moisture in your filament.

Have you dried your filament and if so how have you dried/verified that it is dry.

Hi Jon thanks for the reply. I think you got a point there but the material is right out of package for this one. Although we bought it a couple of years ago… also I printed these guys from it and it was fine

I will try to dry them still for the next print, but is the printing preset alright?

It’s not safe to assume filament is dry right out of the package. The process of weighing the filament, drying the filament and reweighing will tell the story of how dry it was to start with.

Dry your filament as posted above & lower the hotend temp to 210*.

My no-name clear PLA is particularly prone to moisture uptake, requiring weekly drying when in the sub-10% AMS. When slightly moist, it’ll even snap in the AMS.
