Wondering why you can’t add a negative primitive directly to a plate. You can add a normal primitive but you’re not given the option of adding a negative. Seems like you can only add a negative to another object. Any idea why this is setup like this?
For my use, I have a negative cylinder that I want to use to cut holes in several different objects on my plate. I’d like to be able to just add one negative cylinder and size it the way I need it and then move it around to any of the other objects that I want to have the hole and slice. Doesn’t seem like I can do that. Appreciate any suggestions.
I believe… and I will test this now… you can group objects together, then add a single negative to them… so in your case line them up as you want, then add a single negative part through them - will check and come back.
Yeah, if you put your parts in place.
Then use the merge option to group them into a single assembly, you can then add a single negative part and put it through all grouped items
It sounds like you’re expecting the tool to be a function for the plate. as @tail as dutifully pointed out, this is a model-based tool and must be part of an assembly. You simply cannot move it around and expect it to affect the model it is hovering over. Although, that would be a cool thing to do but the slicer software doesn’t support that.
