Network plugin won't load on MacOS with latest Bambu Studio V2.7.1

After upgrading to v2.7.1. Network plugin won’t install. I click on download and install network plugin. It says network plugin installed successfully. But when I try to login it tells me I need to download and install network plugin. I’ve tried all the suggestions with no success. I downgraded to Bambu Studio v2.6.0.51 and the plugin installs and works fine. I opened a ticket with Bambu. After trying all their suggestions it still didn’t work. Their last reponce was:

Hi there,
There seems to be a known issue with the latest version on Mac. For now, please continue using the older version until it fix is found and released

What OS version?
What kind of CPU?

I have an old Mac late 2014. I bought it new. It has with the 27” retina display running OS 11.7.11. It still runs great. On Bambu’s download page is says the latest Bambu Studio V2.7.1 is good for OS 10.51 and above.

So an x86 Intel processor of some kind, which probably can’t go past that OS version.

mac OS10.15

Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro5,1
Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 3.46 GHz

My Processor is a : 4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7. It can’t go past OS V11.7.11.

MacPro 2019, Intel Xeon W, 160 GB RAM, 2 TB system disk.
MacOS 14.8.5 (have to hold back because some hardware drivers aren’t updated quickly)
BambuStudio 2.7.1.57 is working fine so far.

Since bambu said it’s a know issue hopefully they will have an updated release soon.

Bambu released Bambu studio 2.7.1.62. It fixed the issue. The network plugin installed no problem.

Macbook Pro 14 - Apple M4 Pro
MacOS: 27.0 (beta) - I experienced this with 26.x right before I upgraded to 27.0. could still be because of beta.
I installed the latest: 2.7.1.62
I did a complete uninstall, reboot and reinstall of bambu.

Behavior:

  • start bambu
  • when it comes up it immediately downloads the network update.
  • I go to devices and it says I need to install the network plug-in before. I click okay, it installs and says success. going to devices again produces the same issue.

I installed Bambu Connect - It sees my printer just fine after logging in.

I’m having the same behavior. Same configuration as you.

Bambu Studio network-plugin login loop on the macOS 27 beta

If you’re on the macOS 27 beta and Bambu Studio is stuck asking you to install the network plugin — you install it, it says “Install successfully,” and then it just asks again in an endless loop — you’re not alone, and it’s not your fault.

What’s actually happening (plain version):
The plugin downloads fine. The problem is macOS 27 won’t load it. macOS uses a component to load add-on code into apps, and on this beta it rejects Bambu’s network plugin file. So Studio thinks the plugin is missing, re-downloads it, can’t load it again, and loops forever. Because every network feature (login, cloud, and even LAN printing) runs through that same plugin, none of them work until it loads.

I confirmed the plugin file itself is fine and properly signed — it’s the new OS that won’t accept it. Tried multiple Studio versions; all loop the same way.

The workaround that keeps you printing — use an SD card.

For Bambu staff: the exact failure is the network plugin failing to load on macOS 27 with dlopen … BIND_OPCODE_DO_BIND unknown bind type 0. The file passes codesign --verify --strict, so it’s not corrupt — the new dyld just won’t accept how this binary is built. Happy to share full logs

I was thinking of that bambu connect , does it work well on studio?

For as long as I have owned a Bambu Lab printer this has been a regular reoccurring theme. A Bambu Studio release that works fine on a windows system but has problems running on a Mac. Shortly after another upgrade with a fix comes along and every thing is good. It is as if they develop the upgrades on a Windows machine and don’t always port it to Mac all that well. If I was running a Mac, I think I would be inclined to wait and see whenever a new upgrade came out.

This tracks. Downsides to using the beta. I guess I’ll wait ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
