New A1 AMS Lite & SD card Issues (workarounds)

Howdy yall, I have numerous Bambu Printers ,3 a1’s. On my newest A1, I’ve only got 250ish hours on it so far, all my print jobs are 6-10 hours and I have yet to have a failed print, or even a subpar in quality print…on this A1, but this A1 has issues…

When I got to 100 hours or so, the AMS color selection screen quit working. Whenever you change a color in any slot (via touch screen), it does it normal song and dance, throws up a blank spool on screen with a question mark on it for a second and then instead of flickering to the new color you picked, it flickers and puts the old color up, indefinitely…The work around i found, is if i change the filament type (pla to petg) and then do a second time (petg to pla) and my color change, it will except the color change… annoying

When I got to 200 hours, that’s when the SD card Issues started. If I try to load a previous print from the SD card (not reprint, reprint works fine) on said machine, the program will start up, then when the nozzle gets to about 180ish it throws a SD card error, then deletes the said program from the SD card, forcing me to reslice and send it threw the cloud… The work around for this is, just never being able to load a file from the SD card unless it’s a reprint, and strictly send prints via the cloud. very annoying

Now before anyone facerolls “user error” lol. This machine never been crashed, never had anything but perfect prints, it’s got the newest software, factory SD card with the factory tape still on it. I inspect, clean, lubricate, and perform maintenance all my machines on every Monday, religiously. Never bumped, scratched, or even looked at wrong…

I hope these work arounds help someone…If I had to make an educated guess I would say my AMS Color changing issue probably due the rfid function, at 100 hours i did (begrudgingly) load up a Bambu Lab refill. For my SD card issues, I would assume I’ve got a bad SD card or connection or solder somewhere at the port… I would think if it were a software issue I would see one or more of these issues on other machines. I do have some SD cards on order, to see if that fixes the issue also. Happy Printing!

Sounds like you’ve really taken great care of your A1, so I doubt it’s user error—these quirks do seem more like hardware or firmware-related issues. The AMS colour selection glitch definitely points to something with the RFID system, especially since it started after loading a Bambu Lab refill. As for the SD card errors, a faulty card or connection makes sense, and swapping in a new card should be a good test.
