I got a new A1 about a month ago and it’s been printing fine, but last week it started behaving oddly.
At the beginning of a print, when it homes and then purges and does all of the pre-print stuff, every time it moves all the way to the left it makes a loud grinding sound, as if the x-axis endstop is not telling it that it’s reached the end.
Once the print starts it has no issues, and the print quality is fine; but every time it tries to calibrate the axes it seems to not know where the left end of the x-axis is.
Can anyone help me diagnose/fix this issue? Thank you.
I get this once in a blue moon except I’m pretty sure it’s the right hand side and not at the start of a print, usually about half way though and like you say makes an awful grinding noise like it’s trying to move the head but can’t because it’s as far over as it can go. Then it seems to sort itself out and carries on with no problems. From a printing point of view it’s not a concern but for the longer term health of my A1 it is!
Thank you for the replies. I followed your suggestions, position the print head in the middle and running a calibration. Everything runs apparently fine, except that every time it moves all the way to the left, it grinds loudly like it’s trying to move past the endstop.
None of the cables are pulling tight or in the way, and calibration doesn’t solve the issue.
Following the instructions here: A1 Belt Tensioning | Bambu Lab Wiki I tightened the X-axis belt. It must have loosened up a bit in that first month of printing. Now when I home axes it no longer grinds against the left end, so I believe this solved the issue.
