It seems as though Bambu tried to fix a problem but likely created another one in the meantime. I hope I’m wrong and I’m looking for your input!
I have two AMS units connected with various types of PLA and PETG installed (All Bambu RFID). In the past, when I had a partial roll of material, it would look for both the same type and color of material to use for Auto Refil. Now, since the last update, it will choose any color of the same material it seems. My example:
I have a patial roll of Black PETG installed at A3, a full roll of Black PETG installed at A1 and a Green PETG installed at B4 (why the system jumped to B4, I’m not sure, as there are many other rolls of PETG before this). Here is order for Auto Refill:
If I select A3 as my first roll, since it is the partial roll, how do I ensure when it runs out, the system doesn’t jump to green? Is this a glitch in their new update or am I missing something here.
Thanks for testing your system. Just so were comparing apples, I’m using the WinOS based Studio v 1.10.1.50 on a P1S w/2x AMS.
And to be fair, I am starting to think the software is functioning as they expected it to, but it’s not exactly logical. Using my screen capture from above, the logical order for these filament (in my opinion) would be A3 >> A1 >> Any other PETG
But ultimately, if they are now introducing multiple filament options as part of the Auto Refill feature, they should allow the user to select the order.
Ya, switching my filament position would be a quick fix for today, but really not idea.
When the Auto Refill was only designated to the same color/material, this was not an issue. If I selected A3, for instance, in the “Sent print job to” window, the Auto Refill grouping order would adjust accordingly. Now, it doesn’t appear to do that:
Just adding to my own comment here in case others can help. Started a print today, expecting that the system would use up the Black PETG that I have…because that’s what it says it will do:
Ya, I’ve been away from this issue for a while…but it reared its ugly head again today. This time, it told me it would use the “Auto Refill” filament first…and then failed to do so. Since it’s not clear from image, B1(depleted) and B4 are both Bambu brand BLACK PETG HF. NOTE: If only looking at the filament NUMBERS not AMS LETTERS, it seemed to prioritize numerical order.
