Detailed description of the problem
Printer is going between the following error messages:
“Cutting the filament failed. Please check to see if the cutter is stuck”
&
"“The filament motors cutting distance is too large. The X motor may lose steps.”
While making a banging noise. New printer w/ ~4 prints, even after this error it printed successfully once by unloading filament and reloading, but the error is back now after a full successful print
Any potentially useful information that is related to the problem
It worked once even after the error by unloading the filament then reloading it. It’s a brand new printer, I even tried replacing the filament cutter with a new one.
check and make sure that the cutter is in the little slot by taking the screw out of the cutter lever, then letting it come down and put the cutter into the slot when pushing the lever back in and then replacing the cutter lever screw
My A1 was showing the same error, and I couldn’t work out what the issue was. I re-ran a full calibration and I could hear a rattling noise. Then I realised that the small PFTE tube removal tool that I lost the day before had actually fallen inside the toolhead and was blocking the filament cutter lever!
So to anyone reading this, take a look down inside the toolhead just to make sure there isn’t just a simple blockage.
i have the same problem, i was helped by customer service changing in order:
cutter
cutter lever
entire extruder.
never solved
. i asked a new printer and send back the mine. we don’t know:
a) what is the problem that cause a cutting filament while printing a monocolor object
b) why the printer say the that cutter is blocked, but it is running and the filament is cut.
