New configuration package

It would be great to be able to read the details before choosing to install it.

Does this need to be installed into every occurrance of Bambu Studio?

Each printer?

Pressing OK does not appear to do anything. The dialog just goes away. Did something happen? Is anything going to operate differently?

This is simply downloading the new profiles for filament. Someone on the facebook group mentioned when loading [ABS-GF] that the latest version of Bambu Studios wasn’t recognizing the spool in the AMS.

This also plans ahead of filament releases so sometimes you can see what’s in store for future bambu filaments.

OK downloads the new or updated presets in the configuration package.
Cancel would not download it.

Here’s the full text:

While it is wonderful to have a community that can relay the information, it would be best if Bambu Lab could correct the formattin in this dialog so that users can know what is happening before they commit to a change. There will be a package that will make a significant change the the update should be readable to all.

Re the ‘configuration package’, does that install into Bambu Studio or to the currently attached printer? Will the user have to do this with every copy of Bambu Studio, or will they have to connect with each printer?

I did understand the meaning of ‘OK’ and ‘Cancel’. The issue was that it seemed like nothing happened. Did it happen? A response dialog that said ‘Updated Bambu Studio to BBL 1.8.0.27 complete.’ so that the user knows what they’ve supposedly accomplished.

Great idea! How about submitting a suggestion in Github to add a few extra lines of text at the top of the Configuration Update dialog to explain where these settings are applied and what the impact on custom presets will be. And a UI change to prompt Yes / No rather than OK /Cancel.

If OK was selected, the Filaments list updates.

The new third party filaments are also listed if scrolled to the right.
