New Error: Detach Laser/Cutting Module

Good evening!

So, 30 hours into a 33 hour print I got this message:

“This is a printing task please detach the laser cutting module from the toolhead”

I do not have a Laser or Cutting module… resuming the error just pops the error up again… if I resume it enough it prints another layer and pops the error again… I searched the forum and I think I unlocked a new error message…

How to fix and resume?

Thanks!

I tried rebooting the printer, it resumed and popped the same error as well as ‘Please plug in the module connector’

This is a straight printing job… I have made dozens and dozens of successful prints before this… I did just upgrade to 01.01.02.08…

Thanks

Downgraded firmware to 01.01.01.00 and error cleared

Kept saying it saw a module plugged in…

Can you try a factory reset after upgrading?

Probably try clean your laser module data port. Could be some conductive debris?

So, even after the downgrade and blasting the laser port with air, still getting the error, randomly, but it appears to self correct and move on and continue printing… is this a hardware issue?

Of course it’s a hardware issue. Just clean the port with WD40 Contact Cleaner maybe. Not WD40, it has to be the Concat Cleaner version

Here is the error message:

Ordered some… will update. Thanks!

So, cleaning the port with WD40 contact cleaner (spraying it in the port), the error is back (I accidentally let it upgrade again…)

Do I need to open a support ticket?

could be a false possitive like the P1 random “toolhead fell off” errors. Try to check if theres also a magnet sensor of some kind, cause it says “detach” not disconnect’, which makes me think it refers to the actual “attachment”
Maybe someone who has the laser can chime in if it has a sensor of some sort

Thanks! I might have to just disassemble the Toolhead… and reassemble… I had to do that with my X1C… .basically reseat the USB C cable from the toolhead to the board…

could just be a magnet that detached and attached itself on the “laser magnet” , or could be optical sensor and it has debris? Dunno really, i want the laser like hell but couldnt get it for now :3

I have an Xtool S1 with 4x the bed and a feeder unit so I can laser cut much larger object than could ever fit in the H2D… I also have a Cricut… also can feed longer sheets… I don’t see the advantage of a laser in the H2D, for me.

OK, so, this appears to be resolved… Bambusupport had me reseat the Tool Head Sensor FPC Cable.on the TH Board… doing my first print since the reassembly… Will update.

Thanks!

Ok, not resolved… I have now torn down the back of the toolhead and disconnected, cleaned and reconnected all of the ribbon cables and reassembled… the problem is back.

Is there a part I can replace that will fix this? Support just tells me to keep tearing it down and reassembling.

Just an FYI, I may not have this resolved, but I did find a Wiki on how to clear one of the errors…

Thanks!
