New firmware available?

I was notified that there is new firmware available. Has anyone looked to see what it does?

Here is a link on their wiki.

I just installed it. Afterword, it asked if I wanted to run the quiet motor routine (about 15 minutes). I guess it will ask that on every update. I choose later since I needed to start a print.

What did the quiet motor routine entail and did it affect the performance in any way that you could tell?

I ran it on the last update and as I recall, took about all the 15 minutes to complete. It is well worth the time but now I’m wondering if it has to be done on every firmware update. It made a considerable difference in the noise level after running. I forget the dB specs but a little goes a long way on the dB scale. If you haven’t run it before, it’s worth it.

If you’re worried about lower speed, it’s not a problem: Speed is not affected and print quality may actually be improved (less VFA) as a bonus!

I’ve been printing with the latest update all day. Haven’t had one Filament Failed… error. YES!!

Well worth updating.

Howdy mates,
Serious Question!!!

Is the new firmware downgradeable to the earlier version/versions if it bugs out on us?

May the force be with you mates!

In Bambu Handy, version 01.07.01.00 does show up as a downgrade option.

i don’t think so, recently a jailbreak for the X1C was released, as far as i know this update is supposed to prevent a possible jailbreak, that means if this update is installed it is not possible to downgrade behind this point again. information comes from Teaching Tech (youtube)

It is. You just have to host the firmware on a server and have the app look at that server instead. Just gotta mod the apk its not hard. Already downgrade from the previous as well as this current one. But they are working on locking it down even harder. The removal was just a bandaid fix.

@thumpernator1 Can you briefly tell me if the error only occurs at the end of a print when extracting or an extraction error during printing?

It happened during color filament changes or at the end of a print. It would throw the fault even when the new color was loaded into the extruder successfully.

Don’t know if you saw this yet. Hopefully it happens soon. Rooted: The Good the Bad and Freedom of Choice (bambulab.com)
