New H2C and very Bad Support

As some of you may have already seen in other threads, I received several brand-new H2C units, and they came with multiple defects: the AMS is faulty, the display is loose, the front door makes a cracking noise, and there are also scratches.

I reported this issue to Bambu support on Tuesday, and to this day there has been no resolution, no reply, nothing. Complete radio silence. Even though a PayPal case has been opened, this company is not exactly covering itself in glory.

I find the way customers are being treated absolutely outrageous. All the proposed solutions are useless, like suggesting I spend another €3,000 on a new printer or €300 on a new AMS. I can order that myself, I don’t need Bambu for that. I don’t see the point, except that they would get even more money from me. At that stage, I might as well just find a retailer here in Germany and buy the same printer or AMS again.

I honestly don’t understand what they’re thinking. I can only say that I’ve had significantly better experiences with AliExpress when it comes to resolving issues than with Bambu Lab. Same goes for Snapmaker.

Over the past four months, I’ve invested €7,000 to €8,000 into this company. Between me and a friend, we’ve had four AMS units, two of which were defective. Then there was an A1 Mini that was completely defective. Now the H2C, the two AMS units, all within just a few months.

And every single time there’s a problem, they resist. Even something as simple as requesting a sticker set for the H2C is denied, and you’re told to pay for it yourself. There is absolutely zero goodwill.

The device feels like a refurbished or used unit. The AMS is defective, the display is loose, the door cracks loudly, there are scratches. I can’t even properly test it further without a working AMS.

And on top of that, poor printers and poor service are things I can get elsewhere as well, just for significantly less money. Charging €40 for a small fan on the print head is completely unrealistic. €36 or €37 for a simple hotend is just as unreasonable. Prices like that might be tolerable if the quality and service were solid, but in a situation like this, I genuinely don’t understand what I’m even paying for.

Then you have people in their forum claiming you should be grateful and that Bambu supposedly doesn’t make money on their printers. I don’t know what world those people live in. If I look at something like a Flashforge printer, it may not be the exact same quality, but you can get a CoreXY printer with four-color capability for around €379. And here, you get a basic plastic AMS with cheap internal parts.

Sorry for the wording, but from what I can see inside, this device is not worth more than €50.

There are also plenty of negative examples on Trustpilot and in this forum when problems occur and no quick solution can be found. The real issue is that if you depend on this machine to make money, this level of service is completely unacceptable.

As a comparison, I wasn’t particularly impressed with Snapmaker’s service at the beginning either. There is always room for improvement. But I have to admit, and I even told their support directly, that when problems occur, especially repeated issues, they become very fast and very accommodating. I had two defective printers from them with much smaller issues, problems I could have mostly fixed myself, and still they immediately offered me to return both units. They sent me the return labels right away and promised that once the devices arrived, everything would be processed within a week and I would receive two new units.

And here, I’m waiting a full week just to get a response.

How exactly am I supposed to test the device without a working AMS? How is any user supposed to do that? I have a 14-day right of withdrawal, but I already need weeks just to receive a replacement AMS. What choice does the customer have other than sending back a 45 kg machine, assuming they even get a return label at some point?

Honestly, if I hadn’t paid via PayPal, I would be seriously worried right now. As it stands, based on my past experience, I’m not concerned. They can keep not responding if they want. I’ll get my money back and keep the printer, because I don’t even have a return address, and I’m not going to pay upfront for shipping 45 kg. PayPal doesn’t require that from me either.

I hope the support team is reading this. You can keep playing this game. I’ve given you five days. If you don’t respond within that time, I will escalate the case to PayPal and they will decide what happens next.

As I said, I don’t even have a return address, even if I wanted to send it back. And since there is no response, my hands are tied and escalation through PayPal is the only option.

That’s my experience with Bambu Lab. Things like this need to be made public, because there are probably still too few people who have had to deal with their support in a serious case. As long as everything works, everything looks fine. Selling products is easy. You only see how good a company really is when something goes wrong under warranty.

Since you are in Germany, and it seems you are running a business, have you considered Prusa? Yes you pay more and get less but the service is stellar. They respond over chat within an hour and they are in the same timezone. If you are running your printers as a business then reliability is more important than cost and features.

you ask for stickers dude lol I dismount and remount the AMS faster than a soldier does his pistol. and i did it just twice.

It is supposed for you to be able to open and service it, thinking to send it back if a cartridge, or a fan, or anything’s faulty (mine was an heat cartridge probably, they sent me the part instantly)
if you can’t process the fact you have to help them diagnose the issue and make you operate on it.
It is clear you haven’t truly “grasped” the “you know what” about the entire hobby. Regardless of the device brand, the support process is the same for everyone, once they identify what broke under warranty, they send you the part, and you fix it. If you can’t do it or lack the tools, that’s on you… I hardly suggest to you to don’t think to do hardware upgrades, for the sake of yourself…

and nobody cares about the amount spent

the hinge creaks? fix it.

They can keep not responding if they want. I’ll get my money back and keep the printer, because I don’t even have a return address, and I’m not going to pay upfront for shipping 45 kg. PayPal doesn’t require that from me either.

ridiculous.

On brand new printers? Are you high?

I’m a microtechnologist. That doesn’t mean I’m going to start repairing a brand-new device out of the box.

If I buy a new car and it’s defective on delivery, I don’t fix it myself just because I technically could. The same applies here. The unit was DOA out of the box.

I expect a proper resolution, not a DIY repair process.

Sure, I’ll just replace the display and its mount, fix the door, repair the AMS, and remove the scratches. Maybe I’ll repaint it too while I’m at it.

Didn’t realize I bought a kit instead of a finished product.

The question is Only , is it a new Printer or a refb.

So if you bought a brand new big screen TV and the screen is scratched. I’m supposed to do what? Ask the vendor for a new screen and fix it myself? Samsung comes out with a new processor for their TV’s. Am I suppose to get out my hot air gun, remove the old chip and reflow on a new one?

Bambu Labs printers are not rep-rap. They are appliances like toasters or microwave ovens. The OP bought a supposedly brand-new printer that is expected to function out-of-the-box. If not, it’s BL’s responsibility to replace it, not the owner repairing it on their own.

The difference between a brand new factory product and one that’s been reboxed multiple times should be obvious? I do not think someone’s really selling returns without labeling them properly ? They do ?

I’ve bought appliances before that were obviously returns (fingerprints and scratches) and expertly re-boxed. It happens.

I am astonished by the responses of some members of this forum, really. Where in this world when you buy something that is supposedly new, and you find that is defective you need to fix it by yourself? My money worth the same as the product you sold me, you only have two options as a seller. You have to give me a new working product or you have to give me my money back WITHOUT questions. What BL us doing is completely wrong. Something new don’t need to be fixed, needs to be replaced. If you are unable to sell something that is problem free 99 percent the time, you are out of business. Simple as that.

Selling used goods as new without disclosure is such a stupid and easily punishable fraud that it makes me suspect there’s more to know..

You created a support ticket on Tuesday and you’ve had ZERO response? I find that very hard to believe.

They responded to every single issue I had within the next day. They are in China so obviously different timezones and sent out what I needed once verifying a few things.

If you bought these from Bambu itself, not a local retailer, your options for defective printers are to repack, reship them back and go through that entire process in the 1st 14 (however many days it is). Or can you fix what’s wrong with Bambu sending you the parts to do so under warranty.

Those are basically your 2 options. With option 1, bambu is going to wait to see your printer, inspect your printer (make sure it’s all there and not a box) and refund your money. Option 2 you will be waiting for parts and fixing it yourself.

If your case isn’t a clear cut of either going after option 1 or option 2, there isn’t much more bambu can do on their end. You have every right to return a defective printer within that window. I’m pretty sure, those that aren’t technically savy could also repack their printer, pay the shipping fees and send it back to bambu to repair it out of that initial window of time as well. - aka if something happened a few months in.

Everyone seems to bring up cars as an analogy, but you aren’t buying a car directly from Chevy, Ford etc. You are buying from a dealer franchise storefront. So if that car has issues you are then taking it back to the dealer to repair / replace it.

Bambu doesn’t have that type of network. So that’s why your options are what they are. In the states, microcenter / best buy are retailers which are a good choice as you can physically go buy them locally, purchase their extended warranties, and take them back (much easier than shipping) for issues if you so desire.

So I don’t know what you are wanting to do here. You either take them back which bambu will do option 1 or you do option 2.

If you’ve had a support ticket open on every single printer (only 1 ticket per Serial number) and not a single ticket has had a response since Tuesday, then you truly do have a problem.

I just don’t believe that’s the case at all. So no idea what you are trying to accomplish here tbh.

But did you read the list of defective devices? Practically all of them. It’s a Guinness world record. You simply don’t buy used electronics.

Wait a bit more. All the white Bambu white knights will come to the rescue of the brand because the customer is always the problem and should have to keep a defective product and not say a bad thing about the brand.

They are here already, too late :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Happy May 1st

Say that to Amazon and other online shops. Because boy oh boy, do they send used products as new lots of times

Said the court jester… :joy:
Amazon doesn’t sell the printer.. I buy from Bambu Lab GmbH. Oh, right, Amazon has used stuff… it’s disgusting.

Please refrain from going to that side and name calling. I did not talk about your father did i?

It’s not my fault that the truth is only heard by those who know it. The others just want to believe what they want to believe to defend what they have, in your case, your Bambu. Yay, congratulations.

Anyway…

I have received “new” items from Amazon that were clearly returns. Amazon is just a shipping middle-man for the vendor. It’s not their responsibility to inspect every item they send out.

I’ve had this happen to me on several occasions. Amazon’s response? “Return the item, we will pay for shipping and we will send you a replacement immediately, no questioned asked”

The last one, in case people don’t get it, is a perfect printed first layer.

Just for info

So if others who are running fleets, farms, etc., of these printers have a completely different experience than you, experience with support etc., and a positive one at that, they are “bambu white knights”?

Just a hint: There’s many people that have POSITIVE experience with Bambu, their support, and their printers. I’d wager a guess that’s a MAJOR reason they sell more modern 3d printers than any other brand on the planet atm.
