New out of the box P1S, bed making contact with shoot

My new P1S arrived Tuesday and couldn’t wait to set it up and start printing. I have been without a functioning printer for almost 6 months and my “to print” list is long. Finally took the plunge and bought my first Bambu Labs printer. Now come the sad part. Setup went find AMS loaded perfectly and was ready to calibrate and start my first print. As the bed was moving up the “homing” would fail with a “The build plate may not be properly placed”. I removed the build plate completely and still got the same error. Watching closely I can see that the bed itself is making contact with the “poop shoot”. I tried loosening the mounting screws of the shoot and re-tautening them while applying light pressure to the shoot. I was able to complete a full calibration unfortunately the issue came back as soon as I tried to print something. I opened a support ticket but my beautiful new printer is just sitting there and it’s killing me. Any ideas?

It sounds like the issue I had when my X1 was new. I had to do the screw loosening and bed pulling twice as I was a bit overcautious the first time. The light scrape mark on the poop chute was a giveaway though when I carefully moved the bed up.
Note: You need to loosen the heat bed bearing holder screws and pull on the heat bed rather than adjusting the poop chute.

That did the trick! And I learned it’s spelled “chute” not “shoot” lol. I thought it was strange that I could not find any information when I Googled it. The printer is now happily printing a full test print. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I do feel a little embarrassed that I couldn’t find that article myself. Also feel like I can breath again. This was a heavy investment and now I can start on my very long list of “to-print”.

Thanks again,
Chris
