Greetings all,
Received my second BambuLab printer , a P1P today. I have had a X1 Carbon with AMS for about a month now and absolutely love it. Coming back to the P1P received today, after removing the packaging and setting up the printer, it went through the calibration etc just fine.
I added the printer to Bambu Handy and when I started the first print, - once the heatbed was up to temperature - I got an Error : “HMS_0300_0300_0001_0001 The speed of the hotend fan is too slow or stopped”. I referred to the Wiki, checked the connectors but no luck.
Next , I opened a support ticket but it says it may take up to 3 days or more for anyone to respond on the support website.
So, I have gone ahead and ordered a couple of new hotend fans for P1P (I do have a few spare fans with the X1C nozzles but they have different adapters) .
My question to the community is that have any of you faced this error before and maybe there is some other connector to check too? Should I order any other parts besides the hotend fan? I know warranty and all will happen, and a few $$ is not the concern, I just want to get printing with it.
I had the problem and after trying all things listed in other posts I pulled the fan off my other hot end assembly. I still have not gotten around to testing the fan that quit working. It is possible that the manipulation of the wires and trying to get them under the restraining clip broke on.
Hello - yes I followed all these steps but no luck thus far. I did order the spre fan and hopefully replacing the Fan should get me up and running. Thank you so much for responding. Once the Fan arrives (i’m on the east coast so might be a few days) I will definitely post an update.
On the flipside - as expected - the support ticket and team are useless. They didnt even see all the logs i have already uploaded to the support ticket or all the details of the Wiki debugging already done - looks like a Bot is responding with boilerplate responses. The tech is amazing but if something kills this printer it’s going to be the woefully inadequate support!!!
I ordered two hotend assemblies just because I had a clog I could not successfully clear. Both the new hot ends fans gave that message. Replaced one with the clogged ends fan and it works fine.
I suspect a bad batch of fans or wiring. One of them would start and then stop after a minute. Yes they were reseated (multiple times). Yes the machine was rebooted (multiple times).
So I’m thinking bad fans for sure. I did order replacement fans to get them back in running shape.
I was not happy with the trouble ticket system. Show a picture of a fan not working? Huh? Upload the logs? Really? It’s a bad fan. They need to rethink that ticket system.
Had the same error on arrival, was a hotend fan blade that had broken off and jammed the rest of the fan. Opened up the hotend and wiggled the fan untill the broken blade fell out. It still works (I dont think its supposed to sound like this). Took a week of back and forth with support to get them to send the 15 dollar replacement. Not worth your time imo.
Oh and they won’t replace the wasted filament from all of thw troubleshooting, just a heads up. It was thw only way it would’ve been a positive interaction after getting a new broken product. Instead I got treated like a bother. Maybe if I was a youtuber I’d get filament to replace thw stuff I wasted, instead, here we are. Lost my loyalty, just like that.
Thank you all for responding. Hopefully the new fan(s) will be here in a day or two more.- I ordered four to be safe since I was anyways planning on keeping 0.2 and 0.6 hotends ready to swap with thermistors/fan and heaters installed to save time.
But here’s the kicker, I have an X1 and had two hotends ready to swap and when the new P1P gave the fan error - I was like - hmmm - no big deal , I’ll just try my X1 fan but to my horror when i popped the cover on the P1P - it has an entirely different connector board LOL!!! (my bad though - its mentioned on many items in the store - i just missed it). I think thats really really screwed up - for a small business its important to have interoperability within an ecosystem with basic parts , especially when the hotend is interchangeable. Between X1/P1P. Same with the extruder I noticed. I had a spare hardened steel spare extruder for the X1 - but no - cant use it on the P1P if needed.
I think in the last few days after contacting support (my first time - never needed to for the X1 though have had it only a month) besides the glass top and door, display screens, glues or x carriage - there is not a single spare part left that I have not ordered in multiples!!!
I am horrified at the support as stated earlier and nope - no one has got back to me yet. I shudder to think if its a part not listed on the site that breaks down - might as well say bye bye to the printer itself rather than chasing these people at Bambu and wasting time.
No more of these printers for me for sure - last but not the least - If i had a way to get a refund on this P1P - I would - hah - there is no way!! At the end of it all ya i might get a $15 store credit or something - who cares honestly. As for filament - If the printer had ever printed even a purge line ( i wish) …
Hello everyone - Just wanted to post an update. I received the new hotend fan I had ordered myself on the store. Upon installing the new fan, the printer is working fine and no more issues.
That said, support is still unresponsive. The $15 fan is not worth the effort. What a horrible customer experience for such a wonderful piece of engineering.
This is truly a well designed and awesome printer but sad to say , one I will never buy again.
