Hello together,
In some stores like EU the hex codes for the new PLA colors are missing. In the US I could find it (here: PLA Basic ), please add this also to the other stores, thank you!
On a side note - RGB hex codes make really little sense for anything other than 24-bit displays. For real-life objects such as filament I’d rather see Pantone and CIELAB (and RAL or other systems where color is viewed under standardized viewing conditions with colorimeters) instead.
Totally agree. I am just using the Hexcodes to get an overview over my filaments and by using this as coloring for my chaos storage system. I mean, of course I could guess the color, but as Bambu Lab offers the service with the hex codes, I am happy to use it.
This question comes up here from time to time, so you’re not the first to ask.
Given Bambu’s checkered history with filament production—particularly the issue of “What defines white,” as one member noted regarding shade changes during a production run—we’ve seen reports of Bambu failing to maintain color consistency within the same batch of material, let alone over several months. Furthermore, no company will publish specifications if they can avoid it, as doing so would tie their hands. If any filament maker were to publish such specifications, it would create another element they could be held accountable for, and accountability is not exactly the strong suit of Chinese companies. While some companies do offer color matching, the ones I’ve found charge 3–10 times the price of standard PLA. Not surprisingly, most such companies were in the EU, so maybe this is something that is important there but nobody outside the continent is willing to pay for that level of quality control.
this is very true, i love the matte dark green, but you can’t count on having consistency, as it becomes very visible when you need to change spool mid print, as you can see below:
+1 for this request. I’m using Spoolstock to manage my inventory and keep track, one of the fields required is the Hex Code to match the colour in the profile
