New tacky build plate

My new build plates showed up today. Put them in my machines and they are not recognizing them. Says no marker detected? Also shows no available update for printers for the plate to work with marker. Bambu studio has been updated with them but not the printers? Any help would be appreciated.

On the A1’s you can turn off plate detection I’ve bed running biqu cryo cold plates on both my A1 & A1 mini for some time (cold) just turn off plate detection in your printer menu & make sure you use correct plate in slicer due to temp adjustments. Ps don’t forget to re-level your bed

Yea they work great on my A1’s and my Mini but the x1c’s screw up every time. I would think bambu would have the update out to the machine before they ship the new product. Thanks for the info.

i got 3 sets ill never use but perhaps ill get an x1c one day

I think you guys are talking about two different (but very similar) things. @James_K is talking about the new plates made by Bambu. They have markers on them, don’t come with stickers and should be detected automatically. BIQU plates come with stickers so that the printer can scan and register them as a valid plate. Sometimes you have to open and close Bambu Studio a few times before it will update settings like new filaments or these plates.

My X1 Carbon isn’t recognising my brand-new Bambu Lab Cool Plate SuperTack either: it’s in the slicer, but the printer doesn’t seem to read the QR code correctly on either side of the plate.

Yea plate is already in Bambu studio and have worked on the A1 and mini printers( maybe they dont have plate detection?) but the X1C’s do not recognize them. I just went into printer settings and turned plate detection off so hopefully it will just take info from bambu studio and work correctly. Thanks for your help.

My X1C also isn’t able to read the build plate marker on the new Supertack plate. If you look at the QR code on the Supertack vs. the rest of their plates, it’s very dim. I suspect this is a defect with the plate. It’s too dim/faded for the printer to read it.

The X1C might need a firmware update to recognize the new plate code. Submit a support ticket and complain. Maybe that will encourage a quicker update. X1C owners are still waiting to select a printer by IP address and LAN access code in Studio.

Yea I kinda figured someone else would submit a ticket by now. Its a pain. Im in the process of getting one of my x1c’s troubleshooted right now. The marker is very dim on the plate so could be either that or x1c update. I got them working by turning plate detection off. Man these new plates stick like crazy! Its awesome!

I am having the same problem. Hopefully the fix is coming soon. Even when I turn off the plate detection, I cannot get PETG to stick to it. What bed temperature are your using for PETG on this plate?

Good point. That’s got to be it.

I have not tried petg yet.

For those talking about plate detection on the A series, it doesn’t have any nor does the P series.

Only the X series printers have plate detection.

If you are having detection issues, turn off detection on the X series as others have suggested.

Hopefully, it will be a temporary issue.

Having this same problem with the sticky plate. I can get it to read sometimes but the plate has to be just right. Clearly there is something wrong with the plate QR code. If you compare it to other plates is visibly darker. I’ll try and post a picture. Has anyone reached out to Bambu about this?

Same problem. My brand new Super Tack build plate is not recognized at all on my X1C. That, and my spool of PETG-HF, which has been drying for 48h @ 65C and is printed directly from the dryer, will not stick to the bed plate at all.

I’m having the same issue with the supertack on my x1c. I had one successful print on it, but the next print I tried was strangely too high off the bed. Even parts that stuck to the plate looked bad on the plate side. I went back to the smooth plate and the same print worked perfectly, so I’m packing up my supertack until there’s an update to fix it.
