New to 3d printing, "AMS Filament ran out" when it is full

I just got the P1S Combo as my first 3D printer!
I have been attempting to set it up all morning but despite having followed the guide to a tee it is giving me odd errors upon trying to start a print. Before attempting printing it will load the filament just fine, It oozes quite a bit it does successful purge the previous filament and load the new one. (Just a quick aside, I tried printing from the exterior filament holder and it told me to use the AMS as I guess that spool was empty too)
Whenever I try to print a benchy, or any other model for that matter, it will heat up the bed, retract the filament all the way back to the AMS, and then tell me the filament is empty. Clearly it is not, as it was just oozing out of the extruder head moments before starting the print, but this is what its telling me and I’m not to sure of what to do.
It wont let me tell it to load as long as the print is running, so I have to stop the print, tell it to load, start it, and then it just retracts it and tells me its empty. Rinse repeat.

If anyone knows anything that could help me with the oozing and making it actually print, it would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the site.

If your trying to print a presliced file from Bambu Lab, like the benchy. You have to use their filament and it has to be in slot one only. Not the external or any of the other three slots.

Connectors do come loose in shipment. There are many error codes it spits out depending on what it sees or doesn’t see.

This sounds like the problem. It’s purging then retracting the spool that is loaded and trying to load slot one and my guess is that there isn’t anything in slot one to load.

Absolutely correct! Thank you very much. Yes I put the ASA I bought there, as that was the material I planned on actually printing with, but I didn’t plug it in as I didn’t want to waste it on test prints.

Thank you again.
