Is there a particular way to set up the AMS for support material? I find a print it needs support. I load the support say in slot 1 and the colors I want in 2 3 4. I make sure that Bambu and Orca are set for supports. I slice the plate and when I go to print and select the colors and support the only thing I get is the support or an error saying the filaments don’t match. Then if somehow I get it select-able then it either prints the support as filament and the color as support. Not even sure which way you are to set this mess up… Everything else prints fine.
Can you share screenshots of the support layer being denoted in your settings panel and the print dialog showing the AMS entries and matches?
I am new to this. I just picked an item that had supports and set it up in bambu for example. Here is a screen shot of the slicer if you need anything else let me know.
A screenshot of the print dialogue from your setup (I pressed the down arrow in the swatch).
That shows you have PLA ONLY in slot four of the AMS.
You described support in slot one and PLA in slots 2,3 & 4.
It appears the AMS is almost empty or it hasn’t recognised the contents of slots 1,2 & 3.
This is why you are not getting anything to print correctly.
No the AMS are full reels of filament.
and I even changed the orientation of the filaments at curent it is as it shows on the left with the filaments but when you change it to print this is what you get.
And AMS slot 4 is not purple it is red
Can you take a picture of the AMS lite capturing all the spools kin the shot?
Also, can you confirm the filament manufacturer is Bambu Lab for all the filaments?
For some reason I had it in my head this was an AMS lite, I just spotted the category was for the X series, so nope.
Did you add the filaments to the AMS AFTER it had started up?
- One more screenshot, in the Device Tab, if you had more than one printer, change to the one is question.
- Screenshot the AMS info panel.
- If you have more than one AMS, take as many shots as you have AMS units.
For example.
No all filaments were loaded prior to starting any print. They all had been in a dryer prior to be loading.
When sending the previous screenshots it was on the correct unit 1. I have tried both units with the same filament and print and the same thing 98% of the time it will only allow the support and not colors. Every once and while for know known reason it will let you print both support and filament and have no clue as to what makes it happen.
Yes I have 2 X1E Carbons each with a AMS unit.
Unit 1 has the bambu filament and Unit 2 has ZYLTech PLA+ filament.
Unit 2 shows the same thing as unit 1
Sorry got 1 shot of filament lights from unit 1
Do not forget the request above your reply.
Request?? Am I supposed to be doing something else?
The request I made was for specific screenshots from a specific part of the software.
Yes I changed the slicer from unit 1 to unit 2 and took screen shots of both
unit 1
Look at the graphic I supplied to see how it differs from the one you shared.
That is not the device tab, that is the preview tab.
That is not the AMS unit view, that is the print dialogue.
Other than that, you nailed it!
Sorry trying to figure out screen shots not working right so trying the snippet tool the last screen is unit 1 with bambu
Does the support have to be in a particular slot in the AMS if I select the filament from slot 1 that is all I get if I swap to slot 2 after several tries it shows the other filaments and may show other filaments in printing but not always.
