Got this warning. Sure enough, the wastes have filed up inside the chute. Nice feature, didn’t know it exists.
Is that a X1 and not P1 thing? Ah, I had a pile up in a P1S. I like the error catches on the X1, even if it isn’t always totally spot on, it’s done enough to save a couple of prints, and that’s enough to be worth it. Even with it checking the plate has been a nice convivence. Double checks me, haha.
Yeah rarely happens on my X1 but one big print with lots of filament swaps I had a dag that just refused to take the slide and backed up the works. The print head “conveniently” parks over the chute and locks in place (I didn’t have the guts to try the movement pad) so I had to carefully jab at it from the back. Worked in the end and it resumed as normal.
X1C. Definitely saved me some trouble.
If you notice the blinking red light in the chute. That is part of the sensor doing its job.
It wasn’t a feature listed when I was researching my X1C, but I was super happy that it was there when my poop chute got backed up in the middle of a 48 hour print. Otherwise I wouldn’t have ever known of its existence.
Ive had this issue a few times recently too and was wonder how it knows.
I agree that it would be much better for the head to park itself in a different place when this error is flagged.
Ive found using a length of ptfe tube either from the front or up from the back as a good way to clear out any trapped debry.
