No Filament Laid down on outside first couple of layers

I have had my P1S/AMS Combo for about a week and printed quite a few items in Inland PLA Pro and Inland PETG Plus with little to no problem. I started to print some Multiboard 9x9 Tiles in the Inland PLA Pro and the 4 I have done so far have all had gaps in the same area on the outside of the plate in the first few layers. After about layer 4, it prints fine.

Does anyone know why this is happening in the same spot only on the outside edges?

what does it look like in the slicer? (slider on rhs to get to layers.)

I’ll be darned, those places are missing in the slicer! I wonder if that happened when I simplified the model (I got a message that there were over 1m triangles and I should simplify it)?

Yep, the problem was when I simplified the model to reduce triangles (whatever that is). I just reimported the original file and sliced without simplifying and the first layers were whole in the slicer.

The Slicer is trying to simplify the model to preserve your computer’s resources. I suggest not doing that until you run into performance issues with your Slicer.

Anyway, it’s good that you figured it out!
