No Notifications for SD card Prints!

I’d like to rally some support to push on Bambu for an improvement:

When initiating prints from the SD card, you give up the notification functionality from Bambu Handy. This is ridiculous IMO.

Anyone using their printers for production likely validates a good sliced gcode file and prefers to print that exact file. But, when you do this, Handy will not notify you of anything (issues with print, AMS, print complete, etc).

Currently, you must open Bambu Studio / Orca, open the project, reslice it and choose print in order to have notifications work. They claim that because the print is not started via “the cloud”, it can’t work. But, in reality, there is no reason that when initiating a print from the printer controller, that the printer couldn’t notify “the cloud” that a print has begun.

If more people submit support tickets requesting this, maybe they will fix this issue.

One is local, the other is the cloud. Don’t get me wrong, I understand your request.

You could easily fix this with third-party software that offers these features and allows you to customize them to your liking.

I don’t know how much experience you have with scripting, but you could write about five lines of code to send a message to your mobile phone when the print job is done. But that’s just a suggestion.

It’s probably easier to use one of the tools listed.
