No Power - No Screen Boot - Troubleshooting

Purchased a “for parts” x1c off ebay.

It appeared just the tool head needed repair. The printer powered up and the screen worked as it should.

When I went to put the tool head back together I plugged in the filament run out sensor and must have done it backwards and the printer shut down.

Screen went black. I could smell something but did check the fuse at the power switch and it’s intact.

I am not sure where to troubleshoot first. I have since unplugged the filament sensor and it will still not power on.

Not sure if there are any other fuses I should be checking or if the problem is the main board or some other board.

The power supply is probably still good if the fuse is still intact, but you blew a “downstream” regulator someplace.

You’re going to need to take it apart and inspect the PCBAs to try and locate the component you fried, and then replace it.

Not sure what happened but today it started to work.

but now there is a slew of issues. I replaced the extruder th board because who ever had it before broke the connectors. I have checked multiple times I have the cable securely in its socket.

However, even with a new hotend assembly the hotend temp does not read and the hotend runs away and gets smoking hot.

Lastly the part fan does not work. I checked the connections and they are secure. The fan spins freely.

this used printer had 1830 hours on it.
