I changed from a roll of ABS to PLA, but when I go to print I says I need to use ABS. I can’t print unless I choose ABS in the Prepare screen. How do I get past this?
You likely need to change the filament type from the printer control panel to PLA.
Where do I do that on a P1P. I’m new to this.
I only own A-1’s and A-1 Mini’s and a X1C so maybe you could get some info from this link. Do you also have an AMS unit or not? I just looked in my slicer and you need to go to the DEVICE TAB and select the External Spool and change it there.
Did you try to go to the device tab and change the filament type there by clicking on the icon with the picture of the external spool?
If you mean from the picture above, that’s ABS grayed out, no select.
In my picture I was in the DEVICE TAB in Bambu Studio. Your pic looks like you are on the send to printer tab. The DEVICE TAB is one more over to the right on the top of the screen. Here is a pic.
I am leaving the house for a while but I will check hack later.
That page just had a single roll of ABS shown and load/unload was grayed out. I went thru a few loads and unloads from the printer UI and finally a factory reset. It never asked what was on the spool post, but it did let me edit it from ABS to PLA. Printing now. Thanks for the help.
This window tells you that you have set the model to use PLA in the Prepare tab of Bambu Studio. This is why it can’t find a match, as you have set the external spool to ABS.
You need to go to the Prepare tab and set one of the filaments in your filament pool to be ABS. Use the drop-down menu on any existing filament listed, or press the plus button “+” and change that one.
Make sure your model has that filament selected, right-click the model and use the “change filament” menu or select the model and press the number that corresponds to the one you set to ABS.
Reslice, select print, and your window should now show ABS in the swatch.
The factory resets are all unnecessary, as are any unloads/loads.
