No Z-Hop when crossing prints/walls

The z axis of my A1 is not hopping as it crosses multiple prints to get to the purge tower. In the solution, I would like to avoid slicer settings as much as possible and focus on the hardware, unless I have a setting I need to turn off or there is a permanent setting I can turn on and never worry about again. I have a video on YouTube showing this. I’m using normal Bambu slicer, no Orca or Cura or Prusa. This hasn’t been problematic to my prints YET. I’m printing a lot of models with low build plate contact, so this scratching might knock over my prints. Plus, I have mini-PTSD with my old TOYBOX and I get really scared at the sound of sudden sounds or scratching exactly as shown in the video, so if I don’t fix this, I will be really upset. (Not an insult to you guys; yall are awesome for solving problems here and just existing in general.) https://youtu.be/2DTtMa2_eNI?si=Clyv4LN1IJpj2pDJ

Edit: tried an iframe, didn’t work, I’m terrible at html.

I will try tightening those screws behind the extruder tomorrow and see what happens.

Bump cause if that’s not the problem, I don’t know what is.

Did not fix it at all. I need help guys

Bump…?

I fear that you are not getting a repsonse as you seem to prefer a non-slicer based solution.

However, z-hop is enabled, set and defined in the slicers printer (under Extruder) and filament profiles (under Setting Overrides).

Wait, where is under extruder?

The printer profile can be selected at the top left. To the immedia right of the drop down menu is a small icon. That should take you to the printer profile window. One of the tabs is called “Extruder”.

Is this only in the new update? Can you screenshot it and send it please? Can’t find it

The forum is rather full of threads on issues with the latest, 2.0 release.

You can find prior releases on Github. This should be the page:

the hardware is working perfectly fine.
the solution is in the slicer settings as there is a bug in orca and bambu studio that skips z hops. you need to make sure z hop is enabled in the printer config. the main fix is in the global settings. others > gcode output > uncheck reduce infill retractions. this will fix the dragging issue that we are told is normal or doesnt exist. it took me 2 months to find a thread here, and i have not had any issues since unchecking that box.
