Hi All,
since I upgraded my X1C to 01.07.00.00, It’s printing a lot quieter,
only the startup sequence is noisy,

is this normal behaviour ?
This happens every print I start.
Hi All,

This happens every print I start.
It did it the first time and I thought it was different also. But I just started a new print and it did not do the extra frequency check. Just the normal shaking that I am used to hearing.
It is just a more thorough caliberation and will only do that and store the data when you manually select under the maintenance section
It should store the caliberation internally and cancel out the noise every print afterwards without the 15 minute sequence every time
Well, thats the point, the printer does this every time I start a print.
Check your settings
It shouldn’t do that every time
That’s an extra 15 minutes + per print !
I’m at work right now but if you haven’t got it sorted in the next 14 hours I’ll look into it when I’m home from work (about 14 hours from now)
no, thank god it’s not 15minutes every start,
I will record the complete start sequence as soon as my current printjob is finished.
Yes for me it was an extra second of extra vibrations but quick. It only did it once and now back to the normal sequence.
My printer makes this noise every start sequence,
See this record at 4:54 for the noise I am talking about.
this is the complete start sequence it does every print.
I would check 2 things
Under the settings using the HMI on yoyr printer click the gear icon (second up from the bottom) and look under your print settings
Monitoring should be set to medium and I suggest first layer inspection be set to off
If all that checks out under the maintenance section do a full caliberation and when it’s finished hit confirm
If that doesn’t fly I’ll dig into it after I get home and shower all the diesel, refrigerant and grease off of me from another day in the world of work that nobody wants to do anymore lol
The monitoring is on medium, First layer inspection is enabled, (was enabled on 01.06.00.00 too, where the printer didn’t make such noise at start)
I can try another full calibration when my print is ready.
stay safe.
Copy that
Definitely turn off first layer inspection
And if you are using a textured plate turn off flow caliberation before hitting send from your slicer
If you are using a smooth plate and haven’t set custom values in the filament settings then the flow caliberation isn’t a terrible idea
The textured plates will 100% create inconsistent flow and PA values, nothing terrible but not near as nice as with a smooth plate
I’m using the cool plate atm, will probably buy the textured pei sheet.
Will try to turn off first layer inspection, and already turned off flow calibration
tnx for now! will do some tests later this evening.
I need to correct my advice
The caliberation sequence is actually the second icon down from the top below the home icon
Where you find temp/axis, filament, utilities and print options
Caliberation is in the utilities section
Sorry about that, I was thinking off the top of my head while working
Although I’m already sure you figured out my mistake lol
Hopefully your printer is operating correctly now but if not lets keep trying to sort it out
I just got home and immediately started a benchy to test some new PLA I’m using
I did in fact notice that after the bed leveling sequence that the bed does a longer vibration sequence before starting the purge line
If that’s your concern don’t sweat it, thats a normal part of the start sequence with the new firmware
It’s just doing a touch longer of a resonance/vibration test, literally an extra second of vibration
Well worth it for better surface quality
Glad I’m not the only one tnx for checking out!
After I did a full re calibration for fun. It started doing those really loud vibrations, it wasn’t doing it before it’s kinda way to damn loud lol. I hope it doesn’t stay for ever like that or BambuLab could check it out.
I’m having this exact same issue with one of my P1S models. I get this vibration with every startup sequence- Mine is MUCH louder then the one in this video but it happens at almost the same startup spot. This vibration will also show up at the 32% mark in a standard calibration (No, it does not go away with calibration). And its getting louder (slowly). I have the same G-code being ran on multiple printers, so I’ve eliminated that. its hard to isolate what is causing the vibration: Printhead or Frame?
Performed a full maintenance this week. Still there.
There is nothing wrong with that noise. It is related to calibration.
Update!! I opened the back of my P1S to make adjustments to belts, noticed a piece of filament poop that had gotten deep inside and was wedged between the back plate and frame supports. Removed this and the noise disappeared. (It could also be fair to say the back panel screws ‘might’ have been slightly loose as well causing a rattle noise. IDK but the noise is now gone. Hope this helps.
The noise was real and was not related to the calibration. I have 7 P1S models and the printer in question I’ve had for several months and is calibrated every 30 days minimum. The calibration vibration sounds changed in the last 30 days (from my original post.)
Update: sound disappeared when I opened the back panel for a 6 month pm noticed the screws were slightly loose and filament poop was wedged between panel and frame. cleaned and tightened up screws - fixed
