I’ve just purchased my second Bambulab A1 printer, and from the start it’s been making a strange noise on the X-axis, which causes inconsistencies in the prints. I was used to the “perfect” prints from my A1 mini, so it’s very frustrating to face this issue on a new printer.
The noise becomes more noticeable in larger prints with circular or diagonal layers (I’m attaching a video), but the inconsistencies show up in all types of prints, becoming more pronounced in those types of models. I’ve included a video.
Test procedure:
Used different PLA filaments (from Bambu and other brands) with various settings.
Lubricated and adjusted the belts several times.
Ran the maintenance tests and even did a factory reset.
The noise problem persists. If anyone else has experienced this, I would appreciate your help.

I’m not an expert in FDM printerts, but I consider myself fairly advanced when it comes to technical matters and machine maintenance. After 20 days and trying everything suggested by tech support and the community, I decided to make use of the warranty and return the product. Bambu had no objections.
The issue was with wide movements—especially circular ones—and clearly defective first layers. With small parts that required little head movement, it seemed to perform better.
I’m following up on this topic — I have exactly the same problem. The printer didn’t used to make those kinds of noises, but for the past few days it’s ruining more and more prints, and it’s the exact same sound as in the videos from other users. I’ve tried lubricating everything again and recalibrating. Has anyone had a similar problem and managed to fix it?
I am having a similar issue. I have narrowed it down to the x axis linear bearings. Bambu only sells a replacement for the mini not the A1. If I move the print head left and right, I can feel roughness towards the middle. I think the ball bearings can get worn and/or fall out.
One of my A1’s X axis carraige/ linearbearing died at around 4k hours. Other machines at same hours doing fine. Similar in noise profile. I also noticed a dark brown discoloration accumulating on the linear axis, and slop in the system’s roll axis. (example pic, disregard x,y,z orientation)
Bambu did warranty it, although their process chose to sent an entire X axis assembly instead of the 2cm 20 gram piece of metal, but i digress…
I think they should sell those bearing carraiges seperately as a spare part. I understand they are filled with balls and want to escape and so are trouble to handle, but like, figure it out
My printer is two years old, but it hasn’t printed very much. The worst part is that I still don’t know exactly what it is; when I move all the axes manually, there’s no problem.
