Non-existent "Flow dynamics calibration" option

According to the Manual calibration section in studio, I don’t need to run a manual calibration if I tick the above mentioned option when printing.

This option, however, does not exist when I choose to print. I have never seen this option.

The automatic flow calibration is done on the X1/X1C by using the micro-lidar to scan a test pattern. I would assume that this is not an available option on your printer since the P1-Series does not have the micro-lidar.

It seems like the text in the calibration section should maybe mention this, maybe they just forgot it.

As reference, here is a screenshot of the options I get if I try to send a print job to my X1, where I can select the flow dynamics calibration (as long as I am not printing on a textured plate):

And as @jpbruce pointed out, you won’t see this option presented for the P1 series.

I did see this for a time with Bambu Studio versions prior to 1.7 when one tried to connect to a P1 that was offline. The software reverted back to an embryonic stated where it showed all of the options, as soon as the connection was made and it sense a P1, the options disappear right in front of me.

I see that makes sense, thank you.

If this is meant to be limited to use the lidar sensor, why is it available on the A Series?

I’m tempted to order the P1S in replacement for the A1 so researching differences.

We typically think of automatic flow calibration as part of the lidar only, but the A1 takes a different approach and utilizes an eddy current sensor in the nozzle to reach similar results. That’s why the feature is available on your printer. The P1 series of printers do not have lidar or an eddy current sensor, so you’d have to manually calibrate.
