On my first print, after the 01.04.00.00 firmware update to my A1, I observed a weird issue where it started to purge nonstop during a filament swap.
It usually only purges 2-3 poops on a filament swap, and I noticed something was wrong after it had done around 8 purges in one swap.
So I decided to try and pull on the reel, to see if it would stop when it detected resistance, but nope, it just continued to purge.
It then started to purge very slowly and non-stop for about 3 minutes (I had to move the purge poop with tweezers to stop it from building up around the nozzle).
So I then clicked pause on the print, but it continued to purge, so I clicked play and it then kicked in and purged normally and continued on with the print.
Very weird issue, if I wasn’t there to notice it I imagine it would’ve just extruded the whole reel into the purge wiper!
There was also no option to “Report errors with this print” once it completed the print.
I’ve attached the 3mf file, and I was printing plate 1 with a 0.2mm nozzle.
I’m having a different issue with the latest firmware. Where after the first filament change there’s an over extrusion happening on the purge tower. It lays down an oversized blob that gets in the way of the next pass on the purge tower. If it was small this wouldn’t be an issue, but its big enough that it starts the pull up the purge tower on that corner when it goes to make another pass. It never did that till this update (this is my attempted first print with the new 1.04 firmware). I can’t figure out how to revert to an old firmware either. Has anybody found a fix?
You can revert to an old firmware. Go to the devices section of the Bambu handy app, find affected device, click the three lines in the top corner, click firmware version, click “I want to downgrade to a previous version” and find the version you want to downgrade to.
Any word on if they will fix this? I haven’t upgraded yet but have seen various issues posted across the net I figured there would be a patch at some point.
I didn’t have the same problem as you, I had a filament clog or build plate issue, I updated the firmware to the new one when all this stuff happened, I went back to 01.03.00.02 and did a factory reset, now working like it did a month ago . This worked for me I think they have a bug in software. I hope this works for you as it did me ,I’m a green horn to this stuff
Yes after i downgrade to 01.03. I never have the problem with clogs. I print many print all seems coming fine out. So @BambuLab need to fix this bug in the new firmware
Hmm, my replies in this thread seem to be disappearing for some reason…
I’ve posted some updates for my issue in this other thread:
TL:DR
Firmware v01.04.00.00 seems to have some seriously bad issues, when the printer is set to use a 0.2 nozzle, and downgrading to v01.03.01.02 seems to solve them.
I had a little clog after a few prints and after fixing it it also took a big poop i cleared with tweezers… Next print is a multi color one and i’m supposed to go sleep so i hope its a one-off otherwise i will test going back to old firmware tomorrow evening. Would be a shame though was going to print something for the colleagues overnight!
Printed 3+ prints issue free with ams slot 2 reel, when chagning to slot 3 reel (that worked perfectly fine before, wasnt changed etc) it did the endless calibration test.
edit: last print had some printing quality inconsistencies that were not there in the previous prints at all.
Purged old filament and bit of the new one as usual and seems to have goten a good start but dynamic flow did a good amoutn of pooping, more than it usually does and second poop i ended up removing it just a millisecond before it stopped on its own.
