I print a lot of different colors so I don’t think its filament since its all black.
The only things I can think of that this could be cause by is either the belts on the pulleys in each corner or maybe something to do with the filament cutter mechanisms that flip in and out.
Just curious if anyone else is noticing this on their machines or has a better idea of what could be causing it.
Everything is working perfectly fine on my printer and I’ve had no issues so this doesn’t seem to be affecting anything (yet).
Look at the top and bottom edge of your belts.
If you can see fiber its excessive wear, especially given the time its been working.
Mine already shows signs within approx 2 weeks of use.
Τo my knowledge this type of wear and coupled with the fact that the belts , at least on MY machine, are not centered on their rollers/idlers, indicates a not squared Gantry.
Not squared gantry on any machine like a Voron means trouble, but its solvable as you can adjust any and all bolts, parts, extrusions, chassis etc of the printer, but on H2D it indicates a serious production overlook , IF indeed the gantry is not leveled/squared properly.
Refer to the following photos for examples and check your belts and rollers.
This happens because the belt not being centered is rubbing against the lip of the roller, wearing it out and most probably affecting already the printer’s performance. COULD also be related to poor quality issues that many users report.
For what it’s worth, I am not seeing this on my H2D. I also am a bit OCD and I keep my printer very clean. I would have noticed that, and thus far, not seeing anything unusual.
My belts look similar like yours after about 500h of printing but I have heard that this is normal with new belts as long as it’s not the teeth that are falling off. Take this with a grain of salt as I don’t have a lot of experience in this topic.
No issues here, but I would raise a Bambu ticket so when/if it fails there is an audit trail that shortens the process, and it helps them improve if an issue is highlighted. Also, share the outcome.
Same issue, I made a post about this a while back and only 1 other person responded lol. Its either the belt is wearing, or the rubberized coating of the belt is too thick and that is the excess coating we are seeing. Who knows. If you also look at the pulley (at least on mine) you can see some smeared black gunk on it.
In my case i already see some fibers bulging out from the top. You can even see it when looking at the belt from the front, they stick out from the edge.
Its DEFINETETLY wear as the wear marks correspond to the Poop shoot/cleaner position.
On any other corexy I have (I also own kartesians but given they are dedicated TPU, they run 24/7 in critically slow speeds, so any wear is veeeeery slow to appear) this kind of wear took at least 2-3 months before appearing , given I dont fumble the gantry leveling.
Here in less I got less than 8 days print time (7 and 11hours to be precise) .
And no im not mistaken due to “heavier” use , as they all pretty much work around the clock 7/7
That smear on mine was not just smear but a big chunk of debris. It actually affected print quality , which was improved after cleaning them thoroughly. Also I ended up lubing anything that should be lubed as the printer arrived drier than a brand new motorcycle…
Yeah the wear does seem to correspond to the poop chute/back area. The only visible wear I see is the top of the belt nearest to the print head, which goes under the roller when going to the poop chute.
everywhere you see “white/beige” on my photos its threads sticking out.
I know my photos dont really help to see it, I miss macro function on older phone cameras
