Not new but troublesome

Not new but beyond troublesome. Printing a 4” air duct connector and 75% completer and the duct dislodged from the build plate (pla). This wad “Y” shaped and was placed on the build plate with the top of the item (2) circular openings on the plate. Everything looked great until after the single vertical piece was printing. The first inch was perfect…then the printing broke from the plate. Twice it did so. Thought I might rotate it 90° but let’s see what tomorrow brings. It also happened when printing (2) duct attachments on the same print. Printed one at a time with no problems.

Possibly in my settings. I’ve not entered any changes but according to a number of YouTubers maybe some adjustments need to be entered.

If this is the case, please reply with a screenshot or two….will be best fo understanding.

Lastly, change glue… used something from Amazn then changed to a glue specifically for 3d printing. Also my last attempt…no glue…sprayed with Windex (YouTuber recommended)…I only sprayed once and didn’t follow the simple directions…dried with a paper towel instead of letting the plate evaporate. Any ideas.

Thanks

Add a brim, or a wider brim. You need a larger surface on the plate.

I think OrcaSlicer allows both inner and outer brim. I’m away from my computer and not sure if Studio has that option.

Yeah…makes total sense…thanks

Wow…it certainly is available in Bambu Studio. I believe that this is problem solved. Knowledge is progress…thanks again.

Fixed…first try with a brim was a failure…second was a success. I believe a PEI plate may be the answer??? Anyway I ordered one (Bambu).
