Not new to Bambu but I do have a new P1P

Hello everyone, I decided to add a P1P to my setup with the full intention of upgrading it to a P1S. Bit after looking at the P1S’s aux part cooling fan I really don’t understand how it works. It appears that the air flow is restricted to a very narrow area. Is that true? Also this is something I’ve also been curious about. On a open frame or bed slinger printer you get cooler air from the cooling fans simple because they are open. But how does that correlate with a closed chamber. The very nature of which is to hold heat in. So the cooling would seem to be diminished, unless it had an outside air source, but then you,re adding cold air into the chamber. Also looking to run quieter fans if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The airflow of the aux fan is restricted to that area for a very specific reason. That is exactly where the tip of the nozzle is and where the material is always getting laid down. Even when an object gets taller, the melted filament is still being placed in that narrow area. Also just wondering why you would get a P1P if you’re planning to upgrade it to a P1S?

The Aux fan indeed uses chamber air. But that is still well over 100°C cooler than the nozzle.

Yes I am going to upgrade it, in fact it’s in process now. And I know the next question is why didn’t you just buy a P1S. Well since I had some Bambu Labs gift cards from models I’ve posted and I didn’t have enough boost to purchase to purchase the P1S, So I figured it’s an easy upgrade and I can easily do that. Another reason is I was looking at using the Vision set of panels that allow me to still see the internals of the printer. So buying the P1S and having panels sitting around seemed a bit of a waste. I wanted to get it asap, before the P series falls into the same fate as X1 series with all the craziness of “Bambu Connect”. I have an air gaped printer network. I don’t use the app at all except to help with the initial setup. In fact I find the app to be a bit of a waste of time. I hate working off a phone screen and I don’t remotely start prints. I have a complete separate camera network to monitor prints that also does time-lapse recordings. I currently use Orca Slicer, Bambu Labs Slicer and I just received the update for Simplify3D, it now supports Bambu Labs too.

Got it, I figured it was the case. I’m not new to core XY, but this is miles above my Flashforge unit I bought many years ago.
